Folding Aces? Folding Aces?

11-20-2008 , 11:04 PM
Villain was running 25/21/3.6 folds to cbet 54%, CRFlop10%

A solid reg running at 9ptbb/100 over 2.5k hands.

We hadn't tangled. My image was good, as was his.

Can villain really be value betting AT or giving serious aggro with the draw?

wat? umm shove

We're scared of mayyybe 10-10. I wouldn't expect to see 55 or 22 at all. 10x and FD's are what we're sweating.

shove what? not the flop
11-20-2008 , 11:12 PM
No, the total blank turn ha.

your right, and this is why I posted. I was sooo annoyed afterwards having thought about it. Only thing was (get ready to laugh out loud) but it just felt wrong. Villain had been sooo passive and then woke up.

I do think that 22, 55 are in his range tho.

I didn't include those because you said villain was a solid reg running at 9pt and blah blah. If he doesn't suck, those shouldn't be in his range.

I guarantee you some SSNL posters you think are quite good will flat those hands pre sometimes. Flatting or 3betting or folding can all be reasonable if you can play well postflop against the opener.

dont alot of regs play 22/55 the same way or am i missing something?
11-21-2008 , 01:37 AM
If he is solid, then he is capable of valuebetting worse here, like QQ/KK that he slowplayed pre...

Still i think folding here isn't toooo bad, since there are not that many combo draws out there that he could have.

In this spots notes come in very handy...

... uh... yea, don't fold here. villain could more likely have overpair than hit a set.
11-21-2008 , 02:58 AM
wellll sets are pretty hard to flop, right?

As you don't have the Ad, there are plently of NFD's in villains range. I probably just get it in on the flop. I'd a hard flop for you to hit so villain's CR'ing range may be wider.

He sucks if he flats small pairs against a player who folds aces on that board?

i have no idea why anyone thinks villain never has 22 or 55. Regs flat those all the time in the blinds

so 22/55/TT are all possible, but so are KJdd+, %Xdd, JJ, Tx, spewy bluffs, etc.
turn is pretty standard shove. you just called the flop ch/r so your range probably looks somewhat weak to villain as he would expect you to 3bet overpairs and sets there
