You're in the SB. Unkown 20bb shorty in the BB.

a) What's a good raising range first in?
b) What's a good calling range for a shove if you open 3bb?

tbh in that spot, you can minraise any 2. I might 2.5x it

and my calling range is usually A9+, 66+, KQ

you can unexploitably open-shove a ton of hands (like QTs i think)
if im 2x'ing then it depends on the SSer, obv im gonna be calling tighter vs jesus lester than weloboss, etc

Right there are also hands you can jam which I missed - hands that I won't call a jam with but has equity vs a series of hands I might just jam.

22-55, QT+, KT+, A2-A8

depends on the shorty but if i open, bottom of the range is around Ax, KJ+, 22+

if he is german/russian = any face card and an uno card

What about a frenchmen? do you tighten up or what?

so your winrate is already 9BB and your are trying to get it up to 9,001BB?
I personally shove any ace, any pair, suited kings and queens and fold the rest.

I do close to this a good amount and open shove some hands sometimes.

minraise any 2 until we get an idea of his 3betshoving range.

There is this Full Tilt poker strategi guide which includes a list of hands you can proftitably openshove vs a 20 BB stack. SB vs BB.

That really is a good starting point because you know which range you are entitled to play.

Of course it might be better not to openshove very strong hands if you just make sure you balance your raises then.

As far as I remember, I think it is profitably to openshove 22+,Any ace, Kxs,K9o+, Q5s, Q9o, J7s, J9o, T6s+, T9o, 96s, 98o, 86s,76s,56s,45s and all better hands.

Again you might consider minraising very strong hands, Ato+ and better.

But so it is. Check for yourself.
I have not done the math, but some very good players have.
