Bet too little on the turn? Bet too little on the turn?

Home game, social non raked. Game half NLHE, half PLO8. Game is very loose.

1/2 blinds, 100 buyin...effective stacks 300.

Am dealt AQ suited in BB...a few limpers (typical)...I raise to 16. Get one caller in MP...terrible Omaha player, but decent HE player...aggressive, tricky. Bluffs a lot, especially when checked to.

Flop: Q 6 2, two clubs.

I check, hoping either to CR (based on my read), or keep pot small...this guy likes to build big pots.

He checks back.

Turn is 8 of clubs.

I bet 15 into 40 pot...he hesitates, and calls. Too little?

River is an offsuit 10. I check, he bets 50 quickly.

I make a reluctant call, and he turns over J9 (no club) for a rivered gutshot.

He says I bet too little on turn...considering he only had 4 outs, didn't I want him to call?

Don't like your line...you flop TPTK and your line is check/tiny bet/check? Check flop can be ok but bet bigger on the turn and probably smallish for value on the river

Pot not even 40...so maybe I bet 20, 25? Considering his holdings, I want to keep him in, right?

You're only saying that because you now know (after the fact) that he had J9. He sounds like a loose cannon so he's calling 25-30 with any one paid hands + draws, I think 25-30 is good sizing on the turn after we check flop

If you let someone draw they have a chance of hitting, years ago a guy said to me he would sooner win 10 small pots than lose 2 big ones. With TPTK (on this board) I would bet the flop min 60%! We are going to get information from this bet because chances are a made set (to protect his hand from the flush draw) or the nut flush draw is going to re-raise or shove here. Smaller flush draw may call but you have a better idea where you are in the hand so if a 3rd club hits the fold is easier. I would be surprised if any other hands stayed around after a good size flop bet!
Should you call a reraise or the all in is down to how much you like to gamble but myself with just a Q would consider a fold and look for a better spot.
