AQ revisited AQ revisited

couple of days ago there was a long thread about the merits of calling instead of 3b pf w AQs and other hands in multi player pots. One of the biggest reasons for 3b pf was that people didnt know what they would do postflop being oop and in a multiway pot. Here is my try, no real reads only 10 or so hands at the table........

$1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

BTN: $200
SB: $222.15
Hero (BB): $194
UTG: $163.77
MP: $109.19
CO: $323.85

Pre-Flop: Q A dealt to Hero (BB)
UTG raises to $8, MP calls $8, CO folds, BTN calls $8, SB folds, Hero calls $6

Flop: ($33) A 8 T (4 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $14, MP calls $14, BTN folds, Hero calls $14

Turn: ($75) 4 (3 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $62, 2 folds

Results: $75 Pot
UTG mucked and WON $134 (+$112 NET)

lol pretty much a perfect example of why 3b > calling preflop.

i think you played it fine. however, i prefer donking the flop since the pfr is going to be checking the flop with a lot of his range.

If this is your standard line, expect to be 2barreled alot.

I probably have to raise pre or on the flop so you have some idea where you are.

It's a pure guess by the turn with no reads so I guess I would have to fold and hate it.

if hes tight u shouldnt 3 bet, but here, in a squeeze situation with all that money in it's take a <10 pfr for me to just call.

I like leading flop vs this many players. vs one I'd just c/c. that turn is a tough spot and he fires again not good spot I guess a fold isnt bad not sure I would tho.

def not a standard line, if you lead the flop whats the plan? are you stacking off here or b/f ?
I dont think he is bluffing here vs 2 opp very often, what do you put his range as after the turn bet?

yes, i probably b/f readless....

his range is probably something like sets, two pair, AK/AQ, some combo draws

On the turn, lots of aces, draws, 2 pairs, sets, air.

Obviously weighted towards made hands.

I think if you flat I think you must call 2nd barrel at least. He could be valuebetting worse. I actually hate 3betting utg raisers w/ aq so I like flat. I don't mind calling one more street if he two barrels frequently. He could also have Axhh and have picked up the flush draw.

Fold couldnt be too terrible though on turn.

I think in general bet/folding is pretty damn bad here.
