AA in 3betpot AA in 3betpot

Villain is 20/17/2,6 over about 200 hands. We are playing ag each other on multiple tables and have been 3betting us quiete a bit, but nothing crazy. I think he views me as pretty bluffy because he called me down with J9 on a K-9-8-3-2 board where I had KQ. He seems like a decent player otherwise, definitely not spewy or crazy aggro.

In this hand, I really, really, really misplayed the turn (wanted to crai obv). The question is, what do I do after the Th comes on the river?

Bet river for value $37-$45 should do. Villain will look you up with QJs, KJs, AJ etc

I'd have just bet, bet shoved unless you have a read that villain floats in 3bets pots or is overly aggressive.

Bet more like 22 on the flop.

you gotta bet more on that flop...atleast $22. I would fire out again on the turn and call a shove. I would be more inclined to bet $30ish on the river than $45, makes it easier to get away from if raised AI

bet more on the flop, bet the turn and call shove

With your read that he views us a bluffy and have been tangling, it's all the more reason to bet the turn unless you were planning for the cr. But since he called you down in an earlier hand with J9 on a K high board, I'd bet turn and go from there.

given the fact he likes to call down, betting turn is pbb better than crai.

Betting more on the flop is fine, but something like 18-19 should give him enough room to shove his bluffs/draws.

I would bet something ******ed on the turn to make him crazy and open shove the river.

As played b/f 37 or so

Thanks for the responses guys.

Results: I bet 33$ and he called with trip tens - I guess he was scared I had a flush; can´t really fault him for that, my line does look like one.

Explanation for how I played the hand: Many of you said I should bet more on the flop. The thing is, a flush draw is only small part of his range, and I am not folding AA on that board after I bet the flop even if the third heart comes (for 100bb).

With my smallish flop bet, I got exactly what I wanted: he called with a hand I had totally crushed. I´ll agree that the turn play sucks, both because of table dynamics and the fact that the turn card put more draws out there (I wanted to crai, instead I should have bet).

I see that we all agree on how the river should be played given how the rest of the hand went down.

he'd just call the river because you should be shoving all of your made hand range on the turn due to all the draws+the fact he'll never believe you.

When you bet the river you look like a backdoored flush or some other made hand that came in. However its also fairly likely you have a bluff, so he calls...

like seriously you should shove qj on that turn if you have it.

bet more on flop because you don't always have AA here

what did you put him on that u felt your turn c/r attempt was wise?

HoldemNewby: A jack with a good kicker, possibly QQ ( I do not know whether he 4bets QQ pf or takes a flop), bluffs, draws, etc. I feel that TT/99 are the only hands in his range that he peels and will not valueshove/semibluffshove/bluffshove when I check the turn to him.

shortline: I do these weak bets in 3bet pots a ton, not only with big pairs. Do not worry, I am balancing my range :-) Currently just experimenting with this sort of thing.

bet turn for value from Jx and weaker overpairs
now bet close to pot he isn't folding TP anyway

Flop bet is fine imo in a 3bet pot. Checking the turn is pretty bad though imo, cos he just checks behind way way too often with any of his hands. I b/f this river as well.
