Sorry for the title, actually just wanted to preview my post.
The following hand was at the end of a long session, so I am not sure I was playing this right, considering
1) we were both quite deep
2) villain seemed to be a decent player, 24/13

no history with villain, he lost a stack to another player and had some kind of come back.

Bodog $1.00/$2.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

MP: $108.79
CO: $194.00
Hero (BTN): $846.04
SB: $201.00
BB: $501.65
UTG: $337.50

Pre Flop: Hero is BTN with A A
UTG raises to $7.00, 1 fold, CO calls $7, Hero raises to $29.00, 2 folds, UTG calls $22, 1 fold

Flop: ($68.00) 4 K Q (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $68.00, UTG calls $68

Turn: ($204.00) 7 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $150.00, UTG raises to $240.50 all in, Hero calls $90.50

River: ($685.00) J

Should I have checked the turn for pot control?

Your post is missing a bunch of components that would make it good.

thac, sorry, just wanted to preview the hand history, didn't mean to publish it this early.

Okay, that's better after you edited. I don't see any problems with this hand other than maybe a smaller flop bet (48). Could also check turn and get allin on river, but this seems fine.

I bet like $55 on the flop to make sure he calls with a Q. I don't see other options to play this hand differently from the way you did it. Checking turn is bad since we miss a lot of value from weaker hands. After his c/r it's clearly a call. I expect to see AK here often. Actually there are only 3 hands that we are behind: KQ(not very likely since he called 3-bet PF), KK and QQ. We are ahead of AK,AQ and some crazy hands like AJ but they are not very much likely.

looks like KQ, but its fine played imo, could ofcourse also be AK, but his turn c/rai seems a bit strong. can't fold tho

Standard hand, also 24/13 isn't a decent player.
