A8s - flop top pair vs an Aggro PFR who takes strange line A8s - flop top pair vs an Aggro PFR who takes strange line

villain is an extremely aggro regular. he seems to have a solid grasp the game but might be too aggressive for his own good. he's running 19/18/9 with turn and river AF at infinity over ~100 hands this session. he hasnt showndown anything of signifgance in a raised pot yet so im not sure if he just been getting hit by the deck or if hes running the table over.

i was playing my normal 21/16 game at the time adn hadnt tangled with villain at all yet. i had stolen a few pots with trash from the fish but had only big hands when i went to showdown, and villain has prob noticed this.

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $112.40
BB: $48.50
UTG: $159.70
Hero (CO): $218.60
BTN: $169.55

Preflop: Hero is dealt A 8 (5 Players)
UTG raises to $4.00, Hero calls $4.00, 2 folds, BB calls $3.00
PF probably sucks vs an utg raiser, ya?

Flop: ($12.50) K A T (3 Players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $10.00, BB folds, UTG calls $10.00
is this bet standard or should i use my pos to keep the pot small?

Turn: ($32.50) 2 (2 Players)
UTG bets $22.00, HERO???
wtf kind of line is that? what range can villain do this with?

I don't see how he can call here if you raise the turn and fire a blank river. He has a flush hardly ever and straight/set/2 pair never. Your hand may be good of course but eh.

Yeah preflop sucks vs almost anyone.

what would he have then? better Ax? exactly A2s?
i agree that the chances of him having a flopped monster are zero, but can we completely rule out flushes?

so this could be a good spot to turn TP into a bluff?

I check this pot a lot of the time and call down on non paint card/spades. It's my standard but in no way an absolute.

Fold the turn as played.

You are beaten by better aces, two pair, flush, straight.

This isn't the board texture and action that you need to try to get into 'hero call mode.'

what range are you giving an UTG pfr'er that check/cals the flop after someone checks in front of him and then fires 2/3 pot on turn?
