If he 3-bets pretty light and you have seen him doing this with marginal holdinigs, I guess 4-bet shove is def. an option.

I think the shove is bad..AK is fine, just for the reason that you beat the idiots with AQ. Not everybody is US who runs something like 40/30..I doubt you have an image like that.

Hate it alot! why gambal with him when he is the one OOP?

Because AQ is far ahead of his range and a call is bs, as we probably have to fold every flop without an A or Q ?!

Didn't see there was a caller inbetween, but I still don't really like it. Its 100NL, it doesn't play that aggro in these spots I think. Also, you get played back alot more with your 40/30 style.
11-16-2007 , 09:46 AM
i realise that, but we're not talking about a 19/14 nit here, the guy is 30/20
11-16-2007 , 09:53 AM
All I see is that he is pretty aggro.
11-16-2007 , 09:56 AM
look closer

I agree with Unknown Soldier
11-16-2007 , 10:06 AM
[censored] me, ok I agree that a shove against this guy is ok.

I'd make a normal 4bet here, but 4betting at all is extremely standard in this spot against this guy.
11-16-2007 , 01:16 PM
very villain dependant, but in this case it is warranted. nh.

on a tangent - how strong a post flop read would you need on this villain to call preflop; knowing you're going to be pushing a lot of flops even if the A or Q doesn't come through?

obviously we would have to be expecting him to cbet often.
11-16-2007 , 01:20 PM
this is pretty standard for me against this type of opponent, especially if I've seen him squeeze.

I hate being squeezed and it's a matter of principle

Hmmm - now this is just a thought.

This guy's calling range in this spot isnt gonna be HUGE. I mean it will be big, but generaly his stats reflect him as the agressor.

If we accept that we are ahead of his 3-betting range... and lets say he shoves 90% of flops he sees (because he is allowed to be the agressor..)

Could we call, and call any flop ????

I realise this would mean some spew-city moments but...?

(Also, I ddoubt he does play the flop like that 90% of the time, but lets say he does?)
11-16-2007 , 01:31 PM
sure?

AQ is the new AK preflop!

What is a nice flop (with the exception of the flops that give us top pair)?
