Not positive if villain is a reg but I believe I've seen them post here. Havent played w/ them in a long time. TAG. I probably have a spewy TAG image.

Poker Stars $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

BB: $197.75
UTG: $109.25
MP: $200.00
CO: $178.75
Hero (BTN): $208.30
SB: $274.00

Pre Flop: Hero is BTN with A Q
1 fold, MP raises to $6, 1 fold, Hero raises to $20, 2 folds, MP calls $14

Flop: ($43.00) 6 4 5 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($43.00) 5 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero checks

River: ($43.00) A (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $28, MP raises to $88,

I think his preflop range is a lot of pairs, maybe some As. I dont think I'd been 3betting so much that he'd be willing call a suited connector OOP, but I see it more than I would expect. No 4betting history.

I think my range is pretty well defined as mostly AX when I check the flop.

I felt obligated to value bet the river, but Im not sure how much value there is. This looks like a really good spot for a river checkraise, but I have trouble giving villain credit for turning 77 into a bluff.

Fold or Call?

Just call now but I don't like how you played the rest of the hand.

3 bet size is bad imo, bet flop or turn, etc...

edit: calling now is prob not very +ev if at all, but imo the kinda crappy spot is a result of how you played the hand up until this point.

So whats your plan on this flop? Cbet and barrel any AKQ maybe J?

Aside from an oddly played AK and maybe 22 what better hands are actually folding on this flop?

IDK I don't 3 bet that small but when ppl 3 bet that small against me I will call with a bunch of crap and c/f plenty of flops.

lol sounds like a winning play!

I have no problem with the size I prob make i 3x to 18 in position. I am betting the flop but as played im obviously calling. You can't fold.

i think 3 bet size is alright but he should have cbet flop... i think its quite possible that villain has same hand as you/AJ/AK .. :F

This is slightly -EV just because I think villains range is weighted more heavily towards AK than AJ which means that calling such a large raise is not likely to be very profitable in the long run.

I think your pre flop raise is fine, 18 is enough. If people want to call your 3bet oop thats fine. Here it seems like the only hand that makes any kind of sense is AK which doesnt make to much sense either. He cant really check sets on this flop. But because it doesnt really make sense i think you have to call.
06-14-2008 , 10:44 AM
The rest of the hand is fine, and I think I fold the river cos your hand is so well defined as what it is. I hate folding cos villains line is so weird, but unless he's ******ed he has you bet somehow.

What? reread what you wrote.

3bet sizing is fine. Betting the flop is terrible because all you are folding out is AK and if villain is good he might c/r. Betting turn makes no sense either.

You gotta call the river because his c/r on the river doesn't make sense.

Very similar hand here in MSNL. Gets derailed last few pages but decent discussion of the hand

that was against a very strong thinking, unorthodox player though. i don't think you should be applying that analysis to this hand.
