villain is 67/14/1.9 over about 91 hands. obv bluffing this type of guy is ordinarily suicide but a previous hand gives me the feeling this is a good spot to do it.

about 10 hands ago, there was a hand like this: i raised, sb called, villain calls in BB. villain donks $4 into $15 on an AK8hh flop, i called and sb folded. the turn was an offsuit 9; he bets $7 into $24. i raise to $25, and he show/folds 77.

so we know he likes to bet small with very weak hands, and the fact that he bet so small on the river kinda leads me to believe he really didn't like that king. good spot to bluff him again?

It looks like he has some weak two pair and he's not folding

If you are gonna bluff here i don't think you need to make it any bigger than about $115

Hate it. You know that he bets small with weak hands, but why can't he do it with monsters or middling hands either?

The fact that he showed the 77 means that he thinks that was a big laydown. The dude runs 67/14. Just fold.

Assume you got served?
Not the villain to be bluffing...he set you up and reraised? Show the results of the beat.....

Spoiler:

well, it did work and he folded rather quickly (without showing this time). i figured making it so big (potting it) would make it quite a bit more effective. also, BB tanked for a bit before folding which gave me time to think about bluffing, so i was able to make the bet fairly quick when it got to me. i think that does make it a bit more credible as well.

i also felt his smallish turn bet was more indicative of a T or 8 than a Q (but i guess you can never really know with megafish like these)

the thing i'm mainly thinking about is whether it worked because it was a good bluff or because he just happened to have the bottom of his range (an eight)

i kinda disagree that you can never bluff a 67/14 type player. i mean, the maniac pot-betting-with-any-piece type player is not a good candidate. however, a lot of these players are aware enough to understand that they have a crazy image, and when someone makes a big raise at them it is usually with a real hand. i think if you can identify which of these players are observant and which are just maniacs you can gain some extra value by recognizing good spots to steal big pots. i know in the last few months i have stolen many big pots from players i would never have dreamed of bluffing a year ago in my playing career. i get burned occasionally, but i think that out of all the times i have done these types of things, they have worked quite a bit more often than not.
