200NL; check/raise bluff river 200NL; check/raise bluff river

Villain was like 23/16 or something over quite a small sample of hands. I don't know much about him. I kinda think he's a TAGish player who usually plays lower.

Ok the flop play here could be questionable. But after that how is the river play?

we can get him off 1 pair here a good percentage of the time I think.

the only problem I see with this is this: if we have a flush do we really c/r the riv? if villian has an A, we can expect him to bet turn, and he checks. say villian has Jx, I would expect him to expect that we would think he would just check it dowon on the riv bc he has sd value. therefore, w/a flush, we would prob lead river.

but yea, he may or may not be thinking on that level. Chances are even if he does think like this, you can prob still get him off one pair a good percentage of the time here, so a c/r is fine

why do you c/c flop ?
02-25-2010 , 05:43 PM
why would you do this? why are you checking the flop? especially out of position? this is very bad

the only hand you can have on the river is Jxss but you don't have many weak ones utg, and probably cbet them 100%. and if you don't, well every other reg does, and that's what this guy will be thinking about.

yeah i really don't like a flop c/c followed by a turn check, river check/raise. what do you rep?

The line looks extremely bluffy and I don't know if he folds AQ here. Do you ever play made hands in this manner on the flop? When you c/c the flop I guess you can rep some weak jxss hands that back doored a flush but I think we would normally just bet those hands. I honestly don't like it the combos of spades we can have is so so thin.

You're repping a pretty thin range (JXss / 88). Not a big fan of a CR bluff here. I think his range is ahead of you when he bet/ck/bets this board but you're not necessarily gonna get him off a huge part of it.

I check/called flop cause I almost timed out and quickly hit the wrong button. I don't think it's actually that bad though against somewhat weak opponents anyway.

And I guess I'm mostly repping 88,JsXs like JTss,J9ss, maybe an A4s,A3s.

Really what I was thinking was I didn't think he'd be able to get himself to call with like KJ or QJ or JT or maybe even like AT especially cause I think he usually plays lower.

i don't think he bets a jack on the river, although he could be terrible and do so.

also i don't know if you raise 88/raise this size with it here

definitely not A4 or A3 that's way too thin
