200NL, bad spot to double barrel? 200NL, bad spot to double barrel?

08-05-2010 , 07:22 PM
Villain is somewhat unknown, over 200 hands hes playing pretty weak 23/14 with 1.2 AF. and folding to 3bet about 67%. I think he might flat alot of his suited connector and maybe some low pp since i bet so weak. On the turn I thought it would be a good spot to double barrel and if he has the 9 hell just raise me. Would anyone just check here? or take any other kind of line?

nothing wrong with betting but dont expect to see folds very often

Don't really see the point of the preflop play. If it's for value, I think, you're making it against the wrong type of player, and if it's a bluff, I just wouldn't have made it. I'd just call with such a great multiway hand. Still, if you're making that play, make it around 22 PF, as those additional 12 dollars they will be calling pretty often with hands that dominate you. And as played, bet-fold turn 50ish.

The only real decision you have here is whether or not to shove the river, if he calls your turnbet and it bricks.
Against a good player I am always barreling 3 times here since JJ/TT/88/77 cannot take the heat

Yeah, B/F something like 50! I don't think check is an option. But I don't expect to see many folds here, too.

Great spot for the good ol' 48

What I dont like about this is that he has more nines in his range than you do. If he is good, it is easy for him to turn his PPs or whatever into bluff here (although he would not be bluffing here with PP, well he doesnt know that) since you pretty much have to fold your overpairs to a raise. I dont know though, usually I bet here!

I think you'd need more history for that to be answered.

He is folding to 3bets 67%, so he has 9-10 and 9-8 in his range. The good thing is that he looks like a weak player so I would definetely just bet, I dont think he is capable of outplaying us here.
