if you want to rep an overpair here you have to raise more
i like the line with a strong overpair against floaters

Nah, he wouldn't expect you to play an overpair this way. If he views you as somewhat solid he expects you to bet the turn again and not get fancy.
I doubt you get him to fold a small overpair often enough which will be the majority of his range here.
