100NL: A8o in 3bet pot vs loose villain 100NL: A8o in 3bet pot vs loose villain

Villain was 43/26 over 300 hands. he was opening frequently and to $3. I 3bet him last orbit and he check-folded KQ9ss flop i figured i could value 3bet him fairly liberally due to this and the fact that over the small hand sample, he folded to 55% of 3bets.
I wasnt too sure whether to check back and call turn, but i felt my kicker was a bit low for this and decided to cbet and collect dead money rather than bluff catch.
On river i guess it's kind of odd that he shipped it in, but im not sure i should fold.

Wondered if this was bad on any street?

Thanks.

Same here, 55% fold is actually low, and you're basically folding out all weak Aces. Flat and play a pot in position.

Post flop is fine, though.

Well, he does have 26%pfr.. but i don't mean to argue with you on this point, I don't have much of a clue about thin value 3betting.

I would like to know if im bluff raising post-flop. Iv allways heard people say don't bluff fish, so am i gonna gain enough value when i hit something that i don't need to bluff post-flop or am i flatting with intention to bluff raise/float with air sometimes?
It feels lame to have to ask how to play against a fish :-\

Your post flop line works great for how the hand played out, but where would you be if the river blanked another low card? I think it's very obvious that we have him beat here, but we're in a bad spot when he shoves that river if a six rolls out.

About the 3!, he's 60bb deep, I don't think 3! is going to be the best option with A8o. He seems like an overly aggressive fish, so I'd rather just call this spot and play in position v him. Though I do see the idea that you're ahead much of the time here, and he's going to be calling with many hands that I think you're still (strangely enough) ahead of, though marginally.

I guess betting flop is alright for protection and to try and keep from getting bluffed later, but I don't thinkwe're ever getting anything we beat to fold flop, I'm checking this back a good portion of the time.

pre doesn't matter if you're alright at pot control and aren't going to lose much if you flop an ace. but, many people probably aren't good enough to play A8 in a rr pot.

river sure fine whatever. he's way loose enough to have worse than 99 here

I don't particularly object to any street.
