hadnt seen villain get out of line though he has looked me up in a few spots very light and considering this is sb vs bb can u fold this on the river, i noticed he had bet in spots big when he usually has it and i really felt like it was a fold, but im beating q10

is this an easy call, anyone raising? or a easy fold against a slightly tightish reg? i mean had seen him check the turn OOP after making a cbet with the nut flush draw which i feel is slightly passive. especially as he had a pair on flop too =)

    Help

villain stats? it sounds like you have some history, how does villain perceive you?

i would 3bet pf against most villains, probably call with QJs. you have blockers against a fair amount of his raising range and it's nice to take the initiative and put pressure on him asap.

flop and turn look pretty standard. i would be concerned on the turn since 5 isn't a great barreling card and he's been passive with good hands on the turn before.

the river is whatever, with the information given it's hard to find a fold. people are bad, he could have KK+, could have a hand like Q7 or whatever, you're getting okay odds.

    Played fine.

super standard man. you don't need to find a fold in this spot to become a better player (unless you have a super specific read). if he has one of the 6 or so hands that beat you, you lose, and that's really all there is to it. next hand.

i will be honest i still havnt invested in a HUD, definately worth it i know but for some reason i have like security issues with it lol. paranoid mofo i know, obviously the amount of people that use it shows its safe so i may just get it this week (could u reccomend which HUD too go for)??

As i said he is quite a tight guy who opens infrenquently from early position but opens a bit wider from late position, he is pretty much always cbetting most boards as the aggressor, but u are right that the 5 isnt a great barreling card and he is much more passive on the turn with unmade strong hands and air, u think this could be a turn fold against this sort of guy?

mostly our history has been making us getting called down lighter in spots with smallish size bets as he is pretty passive but is a thinkin sort of player for sure

thanks for the responses make me feel slightly better just hate it when i sort of know im beat but still go for the call mode hoping he swings over q10 i even said before calling "i wish i was that good" but you make me feel alot better saying its standard call as i think i can get exploited folding qj in this sort of spot, because the q river is a weird card too barrel as it makes it much less likely he has one

i mean you can definitely start folding here (either turn or river) if you're confident enough in your read. i guess i just meant don't beat yourself up if you don't, because it's a rather small error (if it is one at all).

as far as "exploitation" goes- it doesn't matter if you're exploitable. what matters is if you're exploitable and they take advantage of it. if this guy doesn't open up his barreling range, for example, then you can be "exploitable," make good folds, and kick his ass.
