100NL: 2 hands BvB OOP versus same villain 100NL: 2 hands BvB OOP versus same villain

Both hands happened within 20 minutes of each other, same villain, stats 19/15/3.1 over 626 hands, 4.4% 3bet. Marginal winner in my database but PTR has them as a gradual loser lifetime.

Hand 1:
$100 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

BB: $189.27
UTG: $141.08
CO: $36.25
BTN: $119.91
Hero (SB): $100.00

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is SB with J T
3 folds, Hero raises to $4, BB calls $3

Flop: ($8.00) T J Q (2 players)
Hero bets $5.70, BB raises to $14, Hero ???

One of the first hands I was involved with villain. The raise is pretty small but on the other hand is there a hand he would raise with here that I beat? I have 2 pair, but there are 3 to a straight on the board, and even just a higher 2 pair is quite possible. AK/JJ+ can probably be ruled out - TT, QJ, QT or 89 are all quite possible. Would he raise AQ here?

My thinking here is just that the board was so coordinated it doesn't make sense to raise as a bluff. Also if I flat I am OOP for the rest of the hand and in no better a spot if he barrels the turn. Is folding here correct? Or a little too weak?

Hand 2:
$100 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

BB: $350.25
UTG: $129.98
MP: $103.00
CO: $115.03
BTN: $103.70
Hero (SB): $107.68

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is SB with 6 A
4 folds, Hero raises to $4, BB calls $3

Flop: ($8.00) 4 9 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks

Turn: ($8.00) A (2 players)
Hero bets $5.70, BB calls $5.70

River: ($19.40) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $11, BB raises to $38.57, Hero ???

I don't really like how I played this because I think my river betsizing almost invites a raise. I would usually have bet a little bigger but I felt after he called the turn that he might have an underpair type hand that I could go for thin value from. When he raises I really have no idea what he's representing. I didn't want to level myself into thinking he must be bluffing since he couldn't possibly have 2 strong hands in a row but on the other hand I don't know what made holding flats the turn and raises the river.

Again, much like the last hand, I felt this was a spot where he reps a very narrow range but it doesn't make any sense for him to be bluffing either because the 3 is pretty much a total blank. And all I have is a bluffcatcher.

Thoughts on both hands appreciated.

hand 1 folding the flop is prob. okay given that you're doing awful against 98/QJ/QT and combo draws which I think he always has.

hand 2 not cbetting the flop there is pretty criminal given the number of barrel cards available to you and the fact that your ace is a bit too weak to try and showdown.

Yeah, the reason I didn't bet the flop there was because villain has a pretty low fold to cbet% (<50%) and had floated me a few times. Also my table image at the time really wasn't great as I had been caught barrelling with air a few times or cbet and had to c/f on bad turn cards, so I thought I'd better nit up my cbet range a bit until I caught something closer to a real hand.

As played is c/call a better line maybe on the river in the 2nd hand? I guess he's not going to call a bet with anything I beat but checking gives me a chance to bluffcatch...
