What do three flush and four flush mean in the context of Omaha?

Typically those terms are related to the cards that are part of the Board .. meaning there are 3 or 4 cards of the same suit on the Board. A three-flush Flop is also known as 'monotone'.

From a PLO game-play viewpoint it just means that there's one card less that the opponent could be holding to make a flush. So it's much less complicated in PLO than in NL when a 4th or 5th card of the same suit hits the Board. An opponent either already had a flush or they don't, but it's slightly less likely with the 4th of a suit on the Board.

It's very possible that a Player is less likely to be scared of a 4-5 flush Board in PLO, thus be more willing to call down with sets/straights .. which really has the opposite affect in NL.

In PLO a Player may also describe their holding as a 3-4 flush, but I don't think it's as common as describing the Board that way.

Although requiring a small amount of consideration, a 4th card of the same suit should open up the possibility of a straight flush (or two) .. and, as in NL, it may change the nuts. GL

Thanks for the reply. Ya the software I'm using describes a player's holding this way which I find hard to figure what it means. I'll see if I can ask the developer unless you happen to know.

It is just as it sounds .. A Player with 3 or 4 of the same suit in their holding. These hands are typically considered weaker regardless of the card ranks since you are blocking your own flush draw. I've won with them also .. it's nice to know that you are blocking other flushes if you're not drawing to a nut flush.

The 4-flush holding can be worth a 'win' in a prop bet also. I've been in games where a Player who gets a 4-flush holding will receive $X from all the other Players. We also prop straights, trips and quads for various payouts as well. GL
