Hey everyone,
So i decided i want to stop playing NLH as my main game and switch to plo. Mainly because NL became kinda boring to me in the last couple of months.

So i got a roll of ~1,7k $ on the cereus network, from occasionally playing NL cash games. grinded up 50$ freeroll, but wasn t really grinding, i guess i played like 50k hands in 16 Months or something, lol. altho i ran at 14BB/100.

I ve played quite a lot of PLO hands at play money, mainly HU, to get a good feeling for the game. Occasionlly played 25c 50c PLO at cereus, when i was in gambling mode. Without the intention of sounding arrogant i think my thought process is pretty good and i should have an huge edge at the micros!

So
1) My plan was to move my roll to pokerstars, good idea for plo games? I guess rake is importing when i choose the site.

2) I really dont know where to start. On the one hand i think my level of thinking could easily beat PL25 with very good results. On the other hand i m a pussy and can t handle variance. Variance is just so sick in plo i fear i can t handle it when i start at PL25 and instantly drop 10 BI´s. Than stop playing for 4 weeks.
The other option is to just start playing PL5, maybe improve a little bit more and just grind it up. What do you think?

3) Is Omaher pokerTracker worth it? Never used a HUD in plo, and have no idea about the numbers there. Mainly i m interested in this, because i could see if i run massively ran under ev.

other advices?

As a newbie to plo, I would start on 10 or 25 on 2-3 tables to get confident with the game.Imo you can decrease the variance, by selecting your preflop hands carefully (I play 23/14 successfully) and not playing too many hands oop.

If I were you , I would watch videos from dc or pokersavvy. And 2 Hwang books (although advanced is way much better than 1st I think)

HUD: if u want I can help you post my own HUD, what I am using. And explain the numbers.(It depends on poker site though). I use HM hud.

1.) I think stars and tilt are both good choices
2.) Starting small is probably best. If you're crushing, move up. I always have more confidence at lower levels and the beats don't bother me or tilt me as much.
3.) I would absolutely recommend getting and using a hud.

Also, as has been said earlier, I think watching some PLO videos will help a lot too. Deuces cracked and card runners both have some great videos for small stakes plo.

well as said i m no newbie to plo. actually feel pretty confident about approixmated %s vs possible ranges. played a bunch of hands as said at play money and some 25 50c as action shots. Railed a ton of hands and read a ton of threads here and would feel comfortable in giving advice now too.

It doesn t matter much tho. Guess Stars is fine. will think about HUD probably buy it sometime soon. Danfiu i ll get back to you an ask you about some standart numbers in plo.
Guess i ll just start at PL5 to not tilt and try move up quick. as said i dont have the grinder in me so we will see.
Thx for the help.

I personally started at PLO25 playing 2 tables until I got a grasp of starting hands. Thats probably the most important thing you need to know so work on it first

Danfiu i decided to just post my question about HUD just in this thread, so that other people may get some help to, if they happen to find this thread.

So i m going to purchase PTR Omaha today, since it s cheaper. I already have PTR holdem, and i just need to upgrade this.

So what are the most important figures for one s HUD?
I guess VPIP and PR are obv. important. What are standart numbers, and which numbers above and below x show me that the player might be fishy? I guess the numbers are higher than in NLH, what s the average standart?

What other numbers are important to display? c-bet %, call c-bet %, 3 bet %, call 3 bet% ? those? i d guess those are higher in generell as well.

best regards

HUD figures are really player dependent. I remember when i first started using a HUD i overly packed it and didnt really use a majority of the stats. Have a small, concise selection of stats and really understand what each of them means
