Is it bad to have both A and K in your hand since people will have less 2nd best flushes?

Didn't you just answer your own question?
It's obv. a little better to have AcTcKJ then AcKcTJ for the reason you mentioned.

What % of hand (as in top 30% etc) is a hand like AsQc7s4c?

How good or bad is it?

Plays ok from LP in 6max vs other ds combos

According to propokertools "rank" function, AQ74ds ranking is 11 at 6max, while AAxx is ~2. So unless I'm mistaken, that roughly means AQ74ds is in top 11%. The number for "vs random hand" is 17, though, so that might the best "raw equity" answer

AQ74r seems to be top70%

EDIT: vs random hand rank seems best for the purposes of this convo

Yo. I got this.

If we fold every hand in these positions;

bb/1 = -100/100
sb/1 = -50/100

So anything better than that is good. I would guess like -(20~35) from SB and BB -(35~45) for solid players over large samples.

I guess I can contribute mine for reference, can't say I know how people are doing these days overall

SB -11BB/100
BB -50bb/100

Started defending my BB more this year, inspired by my CardRunners collegue Brian Hastings. Results: SB VPIP 24%, BB VPIP 32%.

Sorry, Brian, some of us just don't have the skill set, lol

Your maths is way off. This must have been your reason for auto 3 betting in the blinds. Hahahahahahaa

Was curious myself, so did a lil something in excel for you. This is based on the PPT 3handed rankings. I've added in AK[52+] up to 96 as it gets obvious after that.

FWIW these are just rankings, so its still worth running equities in PPT versus certain hands to get a real feel for this hand form.

Folding 100% in BB doesnt equal -100bb/100.... Smh

I'm tard at maths and too tired now to read it over, but if he's wrong then say why, not just post this "hahahah" BS.

I've kind of changed my playing style quite a bit for zoom at least so have a crap sample for my new blind play, (generally raising more in the SB when BVB and calling/3bing a tad more, will see how it works out) Got 11 in BB and 23 in SB for now.

No worries, tbh I wanted to look at those posts myself as I remembered them too. And I did think the same thing re -- post but i just cba to engage.

below might help, pretty much whatever Rusty types in that forum is gods law. DB might be talking about PPBT instead of bb or limp scenario so folding would be idiotic or smt.. i dunno.. cba to discuss if he has a good grasp of math. Not in here anyway as its pretty basic winrate knowledge that can be found anywhere.

Hi guys one hand, villian is a reg i think. He is playing ok, a bit passive. 79 SB vpip - bb 62.

We only played like 50 hands here. Is there any litterature there is good to understand plo maths? Also a software that can do calculations? for example the top 5% best hands, and board calculations etc.

[converted_hand][hand_history]Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 2 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #22421911

Hero (BB): $52.73 (105.5 bb)
SB: $50.21 (100.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A Q Q A
SB raises to $1.50, Hero raises to $4.50, SB calls $3

Flop: ($9) 8 7 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $5.50, SB raises to $11, Hero?

his small checkraise tells me he's betting for information. if you have anything, you'd re-reraise.
if you just call, I suspect he'll pot the turn even with air. (tho I suspect he's on a draw.)

The coaching thread looks pretty dead. I'm looking to move up to PLO50 next month, are there any low-stakes coaches with rates at the 90-110$ range?

Thanks.

The coaching feedback sticky on SSPLO is not meant for finding coaches, it's about giving feedback and asking for credentials. Try the cash game coach listings at the marketplace.

I'm sorry, but you need to find the coach on your own. there's a couple mentioned ITT, cyou can also check if they're taking students right now.

Hey man. I know what the coaching feedback thread is for. But since no one left any feedback there it didn't help me get familiar with PLO coaches. I also tried the cash game coach listings. There is one coach there and he charges 175$, and while I don't mind paying that much for good coaching, I'm trying to plug a few leaks of NLH converts, and this rate seems like a bit of an overkill at this point of my learning curve.

So I asked specifically about information I couldn't find here. I didn't open a new thread for that. I thought this is what beginners thread are for, helping beginners out without spamming the forum with threads.

I did search the last 700 posts or so in this thread and there was only one coach mentioned, this_passing . I sent him a PM and we'll see if it works out. But if the market is so dead I should probably aim to be a PLO coach myself asap.

Haha, touche

The thread is pretty new, and I imagine it's gonna take a while before people start using it regularly.

Eventhough I'm somewhat biased, I suggest you try contacting PLO-coaches on video training sites (such as this_passing). They usually offer personal coaching as well. Might put my own name on the market in the near future, though I am beyond the budget you defined above
