Ima go a bit baller and play a $60 HO (PLHE/PLO) freezeout. Has anyone of you got any experience of playing HO MTTs? What's the basic strategy and how does it differ from a mechanical mix of pure NLHE and PLO MTT strategies? E.g. do I take it right that, with a short stack, I should tighen up in PLO phases and wait for PLHE phases where I can resteal preflop with bigger fold equities? Or do you suggest not to play this game at all? What is the player field like, are there many players who excel at one game type but fail at another?

To me, it was eye-opening: apart from other well-known solid strategy, the lesson I learned from it is that we should bet/fold a lot at PLO. The series focuses on in-depth mathematical analysis using propokertools.com. The latest parts - 13 and 14 - haven't been translated into English and thus aren't included in the book, read them (PLO Fra Grunner) in
the Norwegian Omaha strategy Donkr forum with an online translator. Part 14c was written only two months ago so the series hasn't lost its actuality.

"How dare people speak and write in their native language"
You don't get it. I think writing in a rare native language is +EV because there's a lot less competition for staff blogger positions, and you can write lower content. The same applies to poker affiliation (to staking to a smaller extent - it relies on friendship). E.g. a big chunk of Russian players don't understand English to an extent that could allow them to deal with poker rooms without assistance
, thus 'kind' affiliates who explain them things in Russian get their rake and make profit despite their smaller size. I've been already asked why I'm not in the business - speaking Russian is a huge asset in the poker world
(add here the opportunity to live in Belarus where your life expenses are covered even if you're a small winner at PLO25
).
OT edit @GGaRJ: I've just read your latest blog entry, and it goes without saying that a pro player should have two independent internet connections (that said, I still have one
); it's less relevant for cash players, but still it's not desirable to leave a fishy HS table with a long waiting list because of a disconnect.
