This thread is more tilting than PLO. At least I'm on a 12 BI upswing today over 900 hands.

I balance this by feeling the same way after a winning session

We should probably ask mods to change thread title to avoid future confusion like this. I suggest something with zoja in the headline.

    Que suggestions.

Try to see poker as a game of decisions (make the right decisions at the table and play your A game) and let all your feelings or emotions aside. Thats easy to say but difficult to master..but I guess is the only way to be successful at the game in the long run.

Yeah, specially after Pokerstars rakeback elimination

Sad history: I started playing plo because I could get Supernova Elite easier. Never had the chance and here I am now, paying tons of rake for nothing

Once you go 4 cards you never go back. 2 cards is boring.

I took a sabbatical leave from a decent but extremely boring job many years ago. I travelled and played poker for a year and had decent result, so I decided to not come back and play full time. I had a 20k bankroll and was a PLO200 reg.
Soon after that i ran almost 200BI under EV while failing all my shots at PLO600 or 1K. Bankroll never recovered and my regular limits and winnings slowly dwindled. (btw at that time I hesitated to buy some BTC at under $5 but decided against because of the bad run).

Beginning of the year, I was almost broke and decided to quit poker and do something else, so I learned stuff and got some certification to try to launch a new career. Turns out nobody will hire dude with no experience and 7 years gap in resume gambling online, what a surprise. I tried to survive playing microstakes with the last few hundreds of my BR, for some reason I crushed for a few months and managed to pay the bills. Last month was breakeven, so right now I am totally ****ed.

Wow sad story...Hope you will recover. THE most hard thing about playing for living is to play always your A-game and stay calm, if everything is going the wrong way. In poker you can't controll the outcome, you never know what happens..poker has a dangerous part because it let you be high, if everything goes your way and it let you fall down, if nothing goes the right way.
Find your inner peace.Don't let things control your state of mind..I stopped playing poker for living 2010 and took a 4 years break..now I have a wonderful dayjob, good salary and no stress to grind for rant. Today I am playing poker just for fun, building a live roll and enjoy playing soft live PLO..Find your way again to enjoy poker.
    Good luck!

You are not ****ed. Well you kind of are if you are not comfortable bending the truth to counter societies ignorance. You just got to get that first step in. And failing that then you still have potential to suceed in other social domains, health, family, etc. There are always many options provided you are not somehow disabled. Yeah a failed poker shot can be very disabling but it can make you stronger.

Sorry about your -200 below EV at 200. That sounds very ****ing brutal.

With 20k though you should not be playing above plo50 if your lively hood is on it (sorry to preach here). I have fked up quite a few times with badly timed downswings and spewed on roulette and slots a **** tonne, but fortunately I found a way into a career after my 5-6 year employment gap. PLO is ***** evil in that if you run bad you need so much ****ing volume to get back out, this is why you need well more than 100 buy ins but it is also a great shot taking game where you can climb out quickly via a martingale.

How many hands sample was it?? and 200 is quite rounded coincidentally which suggests some possible exaggeration which is of course expected due to cognitive dissonance.

It's possible that I'm exaggerating a bit but I believe I am not too far off. I was playing PLO200 when downswing started but I quickly moved down, always trying to keep BR above 100BI. Worst part of it is that downswing happened at the beginning of the .FR segregation. Games were incredibly soft.
    Some proof : https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/s...ostcount=25189
I think this graph is about 130/140 BI under EV and it kept going on for a while after that.

Nice to hear you managed to found a new career even after a long poker shot. Hopefully it is still possible for me. I applied to about 20 jobs carefully selected to match my skillset. I truly believe I could do very well in them. I had my resume and cover letter checked by a friend who has done some recruiting, he fixed a few things and thought they were quite good. Not a single ****ing answer. Not even a request for interview which I suck at anyway. Can't even do a macjob due to employment restriction for foreigners in this stupid country.
