Here's my PLO2 Zoom graph for Jan-March. Nothing to shout about.

After picking up PLO again at the start of the year following an 18-month hiatus, the first 5,000 hands were rather demoralising and I wondered if I was doing something completely wrong. The next 10k hands felt like an average run, neither good nor bad. From just after the 15k mark to-date has felt pretty brutal and I'm sure a way below average run of cards. Obviously some sub-optimal play too that's reduced my win-rate.

Unless you find massive joy in playing poker (I think you don't, how many of us really do?) I think you might be better off going back to NOT PLAYING AND HAVING A BETTER LIFE

Not trying to hate, just giving you the advice I wish someone gave me a long time ago

Man idk I'm in the same boat as Dave C, playing 2PLOz barely a winner after a similar sample size.

I love thinking about poker. Just playing around with pokerjuice, reading stuff some of the sickos on here say etc are things I do enjoy. However it's really hard for me to say that I actully enjoy playing the game as much as I enjoy the idea of playing the game.

I think in the coming month im going to cash out from stars and just play regular tables on some other websites (probably 888 and maybe some microgaming site). I've had pretty insane results so far on regular tables compared to zoom. Zoom is ****ing crack though I can't stop.

Anyway if I don't continue the insane results on reg tables over like 10-20k hands I'll just take your advice and call it quits. Poker really isn't for everyone sadly.

Well, poker isn't going to come ahead of more important things, and I have plenty of other stuff going on at the moment. I missed poker during the time I wasn't playing, but 60-70 hour work weeks got in the way.

Had a lot of time on my hands so far this year, due to being off work after having an operation (actually the second operation in a two-part procedure) to cure a long-running medical condition that also sucked up a lot of time.

Getting back into poker after years away. What are usually regarded as the best training sites for micro/small stakes PLO? I'd like to check out some videos before diving in

I've not used any of the commercial training sites, but I've heard people mention RIO positively a few times.

If you search on YouTube there are a number of genuinely free (rather than ripped off commercial) PLO training videos.

If you want stuff other than videos, there's the free "PLO from scratch" e-book, and there are a number of stickies at the top of this forum to work through.

Just try and contact Pokerstars support and ask them to ban your account from playing Zoom. Thatīs what I did >12 months ago. Pokerstars support was happy to oblige and I havenīt played a single hand of Zoom ever since. Zoom is such a waste of time/energy, especially if youīre playing micro stakes PLO.

I've only subscribed to run it once and I highly recommend the tom coldwell videos. It's 10 bucks a month or something for the basic membership and should help you with the basics.

Why do you feel zoom is a waste of time? Is it in respect to rake?

I have no strong feelings towards either, I actually think I have a higher Winrate in the zoom pool but I'd have to double check.

"der" is German for "the", so itīs basically "the (one and only) Jan (Ullrich)"

Donīt see the point in paying a lot of rake when games arenīt exactly great. Also like to get it in good with stuff like 2nd set once in a while lol. Oh, and my win win rate is something like 2-3x in normal games compared to Zoom.

comparing ring game winrates to zoom is a bad idea. They just aren't the same thing. You can have a lot lower zoom winrate and still be ahead because you play so many more hands an hour.

That's fair. Although, I feel like it's just an adjustment you have to make to your game to beat the zoom pool. If you prefer less hands and higher Winrates that's fair enough.

I guess I prefer the other for now but you never know. Time may change my mind

Iīd much rather play 75 hands per hour at normal tables winning 8bb/100 than 150 hands per hour of Zoom winning at 5bb/100. I just find Zoom to be incredibly tilting. Hourly doesnīt matter to me given that a) I barely play at all these days b) my hourly is much lower than my real life hourly anyway (and Iīm fairly confident that this will never change).
