People, some honest opinions please (but no need to be derogative, you can keep those to yourself). The image says it all. Its only a small sample. An honest assesment would be apprecaited

well obviously you dont play much, its not really much of a sample size, and you probably have tilt issues so not much can be said about your loss/winrate.

you havent run really bad based on the graph alone, but obviously you are running below average.

and you probably shouldnt be thinking about self harm over what is less than a couple of days working at mcdonalds.

what else?

Dont anticipate any reasonable advice withouth posting any stats. Like that i could only suggest that you may need to work at some tilt problems. but even that is just a guess....
EV aberrance is pretty sick tough...

what's your background?

what do you want to get out of poker?

going through the links in the sticky and getting a bluefire poker membership, plus simply posting hands and responding to hands here is a good way to get started.

imo most learning is done in play tho. your volume is ridiculously low. i mean 17k hands in 3 months is nothing for someone taking poker even remotely seriously.

Which measures are you taking to improve your game?

Play shorter sessions if tilt is an issue.

Play more passive and dont try to stack money in with draws; play made hands. This reduces variance and swings.

Do review sessions with other people you know and describe your thought processes.... if they start to sound BS maybe they are.

Do sweat sessions with other players either in person or over skype with screen sharing.

Understand short term varience.... My worst was dropping a lot of BB over a 20k hand sample with an EV diff of 44 buyins... I lost about 70 BI total and debating stopping playing.

I didnt when after speaking to people was told this will happen.

Just play more at stakes which doesn't effect you even if you keep loosing for a while.

Mostly NLHE tourney play. Did play some NLHE ring games but they were just too boring for me. Started palying PLO on FT before it shutdown, wasn't doing terribly, just dealing with normal tilt issues. Stopped playing for a long time and only started again a few months back.

I'm not really looking for more than to be a competitive player. I definitely don't want to be one of those that as soon as I sit down the queing begins. So in short, competitive.

I've had a look at blue fire and will sign-up for their 7-day trial and take it from there.

If I may ask, on average, how many hands do you play per day? And what would you say is a reasonable amount?

So you are bothing saying this is kinda normal?

I agree I need to start discussing the game more often. Most of my friends only play NLHE and mostly tourneys at that. Thats why I am here I guess.

Thanks for all the feedback, I appreciate it!

ah ok.

well you have a decent journey ahead of you i guess. nlhe will be helpful in some areas, but it will actually be detrimental in others.

one other option i didnt mention before is to start with hwang's pot limit omaha strategy book and go from there. thats what i did.

this will also help a lot, watching how a guy like phil galfond plays for example.

right now i play about 2k/day, last year i was close to double that. i think playing 15-20k hands/month is fine as a beginning player tho.

unfortunately its very normal in plo

oui

shoot yourself

the one who exists in your imagination, who keeps sucking at poker.

my honest assessment is that it is likely you are getting worse at poker, this is probably due to the tilt of not having $25k by now. change the way you think, who you are, what you want, experiment,
