Rush PLO. No stats on opponent yet.

Two parts to this hand. First, what do you think of flop bet? I kept debating between trying to take down the pot and checking to try and get a likely free card. It seemed like a coin flip to me at the time, maybe it is?

Second, what do you do once he check-raises? I convinced myself that he has wrap+pair+fd combos enough that calling was OK...

The only part of this hand is deciding whether to bet the flop or not, not whether to call the check-raise. I'm usually betting the flop, especially if there's a lot of loose passives in the pot who will peel super wide and chase anything.

When you bet, there is no way we are ever folding with just over 100BB. We are breakeven against JJs here with the dead money in the pot. Factor in him having wraps and combo draws with worse flushes, this is such a trivial call-it-off. We are even slightly ahead vs. a fairly tight stack off range.

K, it just felt dirty at the time, I was prob being results-oriented. We also have decent bd straight potential to boot.

I don't mind betting the flop because you get value from worse draws, but I would prefer to have some better side cards besides 5s3s when doing it. Betting and checking are both fine. It's a little bit awkward when you get shoved on, though.

I'm pretty sure that range is screwed up. You wrote 33** instead of 44**, and there's no way he's playing QT (with hearts?) this way. Actually, I'm not sure he's even playing a wrap or QT with diamonds like this, given his limp/call UTG (suggests a passive player). So it comes down a lot to your reads or assumptions about the player. You need 39% to get it in (not counting rake as I don't know it, will probably move it closer to 40%). Against what I think his range looks somewhat like:

ProPokerTools Omaha Hi Simulation
600,000 trials (Randomized)
board: 4JK
Hand Pot equity Wins Ties
Kd5s3sAd35.95% 215,0841,197
(JJ**, KK**, (44** & *d*d**)) & 40%!AA**64.05% 383,7191,197

Include QT with diamonds again and you're good:

ProPokerTools Omaha Hi Simulation
600,000 trials (Randomized)
board: 4JK
Hand Pot equity Wins Ties
Kd5s3sAd47.20% 282,5091,409
(JJ**, KK**, (44** & *d*d**), (QT** & *d*d**)) & 40%!AA**52.80% 316,0821,409

So it comes down to how fast you think he plays his draws and worse flush draws. Although without knowing this you can probably shrug and get it in, knowing it's never all that bad.

Monstrous fail on my part. Thanks for pointing it out. Meant to do 44.

Yeah, I don't like PF either. I probably fold it some of the time and overlimp it some of the time.
