OK,so this must be a really fishy question and im sorry if this was covered in another thread, but i havent quite understood why running it twice is so common amongst Omaha players..
Does this favour some drawing or made hands specifically?
Who decides if they will run it once or twice, the caller of the all in,the pusher or both must agree?

It reduces variance. That's it.

Both (or all participants of all in) players must agree to run it twice. If only one wants they will run it once.

As mentioned, it does smooth out some variance.

However, some people use it as an excuse to get in light instead of folding since they have two shots with their marginal holding.

I've played with it on, and with it off. I prefer to have it off. I actually am back on a site where its not even an option. I don't miss it.

RIT is too tiny a factor in site selection decisions anyway, isn't it? It gets triggered in too small a percentage of eligible situations to be significant anyway.

thanx for the info guys.So regarding online play,i guess the all in players must both have the Run it Twice option clicked for the software to do so, right?

It means if you have 0%-70% you always get $0, and if you have 70%-99% you get half the pot.

hmm seems like a good deal, where do i sign up?!

Isnt running it twice though more useful in Holdem, since in Omaha both hands going all in on the flop usually have decent equity versus each other(so isnt it really like turning 60/40 to 50/50?)?

No. Although over a one hand sample, the most likely scenario is a chop in a 60/40 situation, but after a million+ hands it will be closer to 60/40.

My advice is that you just RIT.. It evens out in the end anyway, well i guess it doesnt even matter tbh.. Personally when I'm taking a shot il run it once because I'm looking to bink a few BIs and not concerned about the 'long term' swings at that stake. Regular stakes I have RIT. Just my preference.
