Napsus your thinking about it completely wrong if all your considering is preflop equities. It depends mostly who is in the blinds, and how the CO will react/play in 3 bet pots, if he plays horrible in 3 bet pots then 3 betting is probably best, if one of the blinds or both are giant fish then calling to let them in and play fit/fold post is usually best.

Equity is pretty useless pre unless your determining a spot to call a 4 bet or AI since there are really no other streets besides determining if you call/shove the flop with less than 1 PSB given the stack sizes.

Equity means nothing if you cant realize it, this goes for both postflop and preflop, so completely forget about analyzing equity preflop in most situations.
