Any chance urubu busts his roll and can't continue playing the challenge? (I know of course there's a chance but I assume he must have at least $50k to play with) Or is he allowed to be staked/have a loan to continue. I take it there's no stipulations about him selling action on this etc.

        Depends on the side

But I knew the 50/50 was just one of those 'smart' replies so went with it. I don't know Urubu's bankroll, but I don't see him forfeiting the bet because of lack of funds to play with.

Also it depends....if let's say Urubu started the challenge with $20k and busts. If the person stakes him money on the premise of taking 50% of the profit from that point on + a cut of the prop action it's a very good deal.
        05-02-2014 , 07:13 AM
except that he has a 20k hole to dig out of and the mindset of playing for half the money.. doesnt seem like a great buy

i assume hes smart enough to have accounted for the worst, and wouldnt take action that is > his br lol

It's purely hypothetical. But consider the option if he can't play and has to forfeit vs someone backing and taking 50% of profit + a cut of prop bet.

Lose: -$30k on prop bet (I believe that's his exposure)
Backed + sell off 50% of prop bet - netting him $30k personally.

The option to possibly win that $60k difference is a huge incentive. Who knows if action is > br. We're talking about a guy who grinded midstakes and lost ~$800k flipping. Maybe bankroll is tight but he figured he can buy bonuses along the way in worst case scenario to pad it out.
