Villain: >80 VPIP over several orbits. Generally passive postflop, but no specific reads.

Poker Stars $0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 6 players

BTN: $50.00
SB: $106.85
Hero (BB): $61.55
UTG: $43.60
MP: $114.35
CO: $132.65

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with 2 3 6 J
UTG calls $0.50, MP calls $0.50, 3 folds, Hero checks

Flop: ($1.75) 2 6 9 (3 players)
Hero bets $1.70, UTG calls $1.70, MP folds

Turn: ($5.15) K (2 players)
Hero bets $4.90, UTG raises to $12

I assume flop is std.

Im lost on the turn vs his tiny raise. Is my hand strong enough to continue (best hand or best draw kinda thing)? His small raise makes me less wary of strong made hands, but who knows. Is this a fold Im just thinking too much about?

If villain is passive, you have an super easy b/f on the turn.
J-high flush + bottom 2 pairs ain't good.

I'd smirk and fold, but don't feel really happy about it.

I don't agree that betting the flop here is standard; every card on the turn is a scare card of some description.

The turn play is problematic; id probably look to check call from here as b/f seems too passive as we have to have some equity here. Either way you dont want to play a big pot with this hand (and we start by not betting flop!).

Dont you miss a lot of value against the fish by checking flop? Is it just not worth fighting over these tiny pots in general--esp w/out nut equity?

Seems really hard to get value on the river after calling the turn. Are you bet folding flush rivers? Just more reason to fold in the first place I guess.

Thx

If you had inside str8 draw, flush draw, and 2 pair top bottom middle or side! It would be a call and check river! I dont agree with folding here! How passive is this guy? He calls flop and raises turn to a K? Would he really call flop with K9 with str8 flush out there? I would b/c turn, c/c river!

If you were IP I might call, but given either your 2P or FD (2P more likely dead given he's passive, so probably not raising a pair + FD) is dead it's going to be hard to get value OOP on the river if it's assumed to be a safe card. I play it the same given you folded.
