PLO25: Middle set in multiway pot 200bb deep PLO25: Middle set in multiway pot 200bb deep

Villain was 51/23/3.5 over 191 hands

I decided to limp on the button with my marginal hand the table had been playing fairly loose. Nice flop for me I figured I was ahead on the flop because it wasnt raised. I get action from a fairly passive player but assumed he could have a pair+fd and make the same move easily.

I play it cautious and call the flop to see a safe turn. Villains check raise looked like a set or big draw so I flat. Turn card looks like a blank and villain leads for near pot. This suprised me but my hand is still ahead of most his range so I call again and plan on calling almost any non diamond river.

River is a relative blank if they backdoored a straight then so be it. He shoves and his hand is now either a set of dueces or aces or the improbable straight. Can I fold this river? I have what appears to be the second nuts but when someone ships in over 100bbs on the river how good is it. I was confused from the turn and put his hand on a big bluff which I havent seen villain do or AAxx. The way I played my hand though he probably didnt put me on a middle set so I feel I have to call here or I will just be getting run over too often.

All help appreciated.

It's a tuff spot. I think his range for raising flop can be abit wide because of the short MP. Hes in the BB so it's possible he would flat crappy AAxx as he doesnt want to play a likely 4way pot with no suits. You look drawy calling his check raise on flop as your both deep on button. The villians turn bet size says either he has AAxx and wants get max value or he wants a fold. I like the turn call and yeah without history I would be folding river alot. The stakes your playing make AAxx more likely as people dont bluff many rivers in spots like that. The reason they dont is because the typical player will snap call river with 22xx 66xx and even A9xx.

As played, seems like we should call here in this particular game. If he has AAxx, make a note and move on?

That said, he has committed almost half his stack by turn lead - so if we raise he should either have to get it in with 2 pair and/or other draws, or fold a lot of hands that have a lot of outs if he wants to be a nit. By just calling on turn we have no idea where we're at on river and seem to be only bluff catching or picking off top two pair held by a player who has lost his mind.

Get it in on turn?

Bleh, such a horrible spot...

1. Fold preflop
2. I think he can hold AAxx but also 22xx, sees you on a draw and doesn't want to see a diamond.

Really really tough spot.

definetly fold preflop. your hand isnt marginal, its bull****.

I would probably fold the river.
I mean, with 4limpers, its pretty common to just check your Aces on the big blind.
He could also have turned or rivered a set (also its not that likely).
22xx is the only hand you can pray for and not every villain would play it that strong.

i dont think this specific opponent checks aces very often preflop.do you have any reason not to repop the flop or turn?he wants to get his monies in so just ship it.he does this with a worse set,fd,two pair etc and i think its not very likely he has aces.pretty standard spot to check crappy aces in the bb for a decent playr but does he seem to have any clue?
