Why are you raising? I'm not saying it is wrong, but I want you to tell me, yourself, or this forum your reasoning. Personally I'm not raising. I expect to have little fold-equity at nano-limits, I have a hand which seldom hits the flop, but when it hits, it hits hard. Therefore I expect to often have to give up postflop, and therefore I do not raise
Postflop
I am potting all streets, never ever checking infront when I have a hand like this. What do you do if a diamond turns? You present us with zero reads that can indicate a villain who wants to bluff if you check. Just bet, make life simple for yourself.
Also note that pot-betting is exploitative. I do it because I expect them not to adjust to me betting harder then I would with another hand.
For preflop, I usually only play kkxx that are more coordinated than this in the blinds, but for some reason I played it here (probably just not paying close enough attention or too many tables).
As for postflop, I know he doesn't have AA cuz he didn't 3! so I know that I have the current nuts. If he doesn't have AA and I do have KK then there are a lot of nuttier hands that he doesn't have. I figure at this point if he has any hand he wants to continue with it is probably going to be a flush draw, straight draw, or some sort of 6 hand like A6 or w/e. I figure most of his hands are either draws or weak made hands, and that the weak hands probably fold to a bet and the draws call. I also figure that if I open preflop and check the flop he probably bets all of those hands and also some air as a stab, so I go for a check/raise. He minbets and I raise, he calls.
Turn. This is a blank, so I figure, well, he probably would have folded his air and his weak hands on the flop, so all he really has are draws now. I figure I want to get as much money in as I can, and I know if I pot it he will just call with a draw. I decide to check because he minbetted flop and minbettors usually like to minbet all the damn time, and if I'm lucky, he will think "wtf is this guy raising flop with then checking the turn...maybe a bluff or a weaker draw..." then he will stab larger than a minbet (ideally) so I can raise. He minbets, and I raise again. He calls.
The river is another blank. I decide that his range is pretty much all draws now cuz any stronger hand would probably just shove it in on the turn and he isn't going to call any bets, so I check in order to induce any sort of bluff that I can, then obv. instashove cuz hopefully he caught some sort of piece of it that might call me.
