I'm posting this hand because I first thought this was a big big spew and then I said to myself "well, maybe it was good" (even though I really think my first thoughts are correct...)

Tbh, I was a little bit on tilt, just lost a big pot with the nut vs flushdraw.

Vilain plays 41/28 with an af of 3.

Here is the hand :

kind of spewy, but sometimes you just have to go with it when middle set vs top set

^ lol - nice range.

I can see not shipping the flop since it's 4way , but when turn bricks out folding middle set here is very difficult since Wraps or flush draws are also likely

So the idea was to play 8844ds and then fold when we flop a set? If you don't ship on this flop you shouldn't be playing this hand preflop.

its hard to flop top set when your highest pair is a pair of 8's

Ok, so in this case, it was hard to avoid the situation and the best way to play it would have been to call flop and ship a safe turn.

But what about the preflop play ? 3bet it ?

Personally I'd rarely 3bet that hand preflop, even in position.

IMO impossible to put a range on villain who called out of SB with those stats. He could be making this play with JJ, a flush draw or wrap/combo. Villain has to call with any valid draw for another $60
