hey since im on a huge plo downswing (part because im like 150bi below ev and other part cos im not that good to begin with yet), and i wonder what the swings are comparing to NL (especially heads up). At first i stuck to bumhunting to learn the basics and such, but i want to be able to beat regs as quickly as possible. Now for the ppl who play fish and regs (but not those crazy 8 table grudge matches all the time), how do you think the swings compare to NL? Because im not exactly ready to go through with this all the time, and rather stick with the much more dead NL. oh and the std deviation isnt really accurate so iv heard.

a general rule of thumb is 2x varience.

6 max PLO is easily 2x variance, possibly more.

Against aggressive and equally skilled opponents I am not convinced PLO HU has that much more variance than NLHE HU.

Turbo hu plo sngs have the least variance of the lot imo.

HU SNG outcome follows a binomial distribution. To the extent that the ratio of the std dev/avg is constant (or a positive function of it), I'd say non-turbos have less variance?

i think he was making a bad joke

And i guess this topic was kinda dumb, but i wanted to see how rare my downswing was i guess, to keep sanity (because you kinda get afraid this happens again everytime you start running bad again).
