so I just startet playing PLO and im nowhere near as good as I am in Holdem but it doesnt matter because the players at micro PLO are just extreamly much worse than Holdem players at same stakes. I played around 150 hands and make 6 buyins at NL 5 PLO. Im just playing to learn but this is way more profitable than playing even NL 25 Holdem, because you get payed off everytime and you dont even have to get allin on flop as 53% favorite and have huge swings, people just pay you off when you have the nuts.

so yeah obvs im pretty new and on a little heater but its cheeseburger stakes so pretty easy $.

Whats ur experience? aint PLO abit softer at NL5-25 than Hold'em due to the massive focus on holdem

Congrats to the good start at PLO, but 150 Hands is less than nothing. Its 15 minutes 9 Tabling . Running good at the beginning helps of course, but be prepared to have some bad days, too.

Thinking to be as good as your 6 BI winnings might seam now is stupid. Thats only possible when running hot and having the right setups.

PLO is softer at almost all stakes. Get in a decent sample of several 10K Hands and if your still winning a decent amount like 10bb+ its likely you have an edge in the micros.

If you are willing to improve your game you might get a PLO winner, if you are just proud having wone 6 stacks in 150 Hands and think thats normal you will fail for sure.

I was playing PLO5 and NL5 today and both were soft. Massive aggro donkeys at both forms but PLO is a bit more consistent with the massive aggro donkeys.

I think its much softer than NLHE, I've had people in the micros stack off pre with 3333(had him drawing dead pre-flop, win!), and in general people will play anything and call down with top pair on a ridiculous board. It gets more profitable if you're aggro and they call you with bottom pair to "keep you honest", and if you manage to "suck out" and hit a 20 outer against his bottom 2 they will tilt away the rest of their stack.

The players are pathetic at this level. I just put $60 into Full Tilt last Friday and have $102 today. I only play 2-3 hours 4 times per week. I have experienced a lot of bad beats (variance) so I'd probably be closer to $200 if that wasn't the case. I'm constantly reminding myself that I can't get mad at these guys because I can't control which hands they play or how they play...but unfortunately I still find myself typing a WTF in the chat box occasionally LOL. I'm playing .01/.02 and .02/.05 winning a buy-in or two playing 2 tables at a time. I also like the 1 table SNGs for PLO. After 10 hands half the table is already gone.

problem is you often get it in as a 55% or 60% favorite and the rake is 10% ;(

Yeah the rake is insane. I'm even playing like 18% of hands total and it is still killer. 44k hands of PLO5 and I've paid 338 in rake. 46k hands of NL5 and it's 262.

Uhm am I dumb? I thought rake was 5%

BTW: rake is super sick on nearly all levels of poker its about time something is done about that

On FT rake for 10NL and below is 6.67%, for 25NL and up 5% (with the - imo way too high - $3 cap)

anything in micro stakes is easy, your just trying to beat the rake. lolo 150 hands? omaha varience is gross, take what just happened with your 6 bu in win and reverse the outcome it will happen many times over. id say put in about 100k hands to get a somewhat accurate winrate.
