I feel like it's pretty easy for me to have KT here that checked back flop and nailed a gutter. My 77 blockers I don't think are all that relevant here? I'm not repping many hands that make a straight on the river. Just because a lot of those hands would be bet on the flop. This is FT, so not expecting a ladder any time soon. I think another option for this hand is to bet small flop, barrel on turn and give up on the river. But with the jack rolling off it's pretty good for me as played.

this wouldn't be an open imo at 100 bb poker. at 12.6 bb poker it looks more attractive, as you do have a decent amount of raw equity even if you have no playability. i'd open for pot with the intent of just pushing any flop, if I did open.

" I'm not repping many hands that make a straight on the river."

Why not? why couldn't you have been semi bluffing the turn and hit the river? vs check check you are probably going to probe pretty wide.

Yeah I think I like open pot rip any flop. Would rather open some playable hands smaller.

I would think a lot of hands that want to bet this turn when checked to for a second time have already bet the flop. Excluding KT, would only be hands like AT7x (even this I bet fold sometimes). Because I'm not going to have very many 57 that I'm opening. But a lot of my JT/QT even some 9T is betting flop I assume.

So I agree I'm going to bet this turn wide, I just think my range when checking back flop won't be composed of many hands that make a straight on an 8.

It's also rough because I think going for thin value on this river with two pair / sets is suicidal.

Edit - Realized T8 is probably a hand I can have for value on the river as well.

I don't think we are underbetting turn if we had KT.

But still villain can call turn with a lot of minor holdings we can push off on the river so it seems like a mandatory bluff.

I'm not sure if it's right, but I know I like to bet small sometimes in those spots

Just like having as much as possible behind on the river in position.
