in NLH, the trend went from 3x to 2.5 to now what i understand is 2bb or 2.125 from early and mid and 2.5 from late.

Why has this trend not followed thru to omaha?
why is the standard still 3.5bb?
is it that the betting limitations of plo encourage building pots quickly?

thanks for any and all insight,

Equities is why.

Against 2 or 2.2 you'd have the ability to call upwards of probably 70-90% of ur range if not more from LP and the blinds.

People already play too many hands. Full pot punishes them for that. Any less and u allow them to play perfectly.

3.5bb open is only when there's no limpers no ante no straddle etc.

I thought standard open is pot pot pot???

As to why pot pot pot. Most people in plo play their cards whether you pot or go smaller. Max value is probably the answer.

In nlhe, you can go max value and go massive vs fishes like in live. Standard open in 1/3 live is like 12-15. When there are fishes/limpers you can go massive to at least 20.
