Thus far 1172 hours over 227 "working days". Averages will be 100 hours/month, 19 working days/month, this is 12-tabling, 80% 2/4, rest is spread equally between 1/2, 3/6 and 5/10. Sounds pretty easy, but believe me it's far from it. Keeping the pace for 2-3 months is a piece of cake, but doing it the whole year is another story.

And then there are these other guys who do it in 3-4 months which totally blows my mind.

No, I've quit my regular job couple of years ago. But I have a family, been expecting my first child, have some properties to take care of, running some small projects, been travelling a lot, etc. Plus, I've kept a frequenlty updated blog about the SNE chase, but it's in Bulgarian so you won't understand a word

I've arranged a live broadcast of the last points of the chase cause my readers are very interested in that, which will be followed by a big party. So, I'll be totally hammered for the 10M

Antchev are u going for SNE again next year? I'm personnally gonna try to grind 50k vpp per month and see how my year goes. If I have to drop to 1/2 I might do it otherwise not a chance

How are you guys who play poker for a living right now finding SNE hard?
I was on pace for a lot of this year and I'm a full-time student. I always figured that once I'm out of school it would be incredibly easy to acheive. It's only 3 hours per day about 12-15 tabling 2/4.
I just don't see how this is so hard to do and it's a nice guaranteed income on the year.

Highly depends on the changes in the VIP program, which will be announced tomorrow. If they make it 20% harder to achieve, I won't be going for it for sure. Also, there's a new regulation coming up in Bulgaria which may prevent me from playing at PokerStars.com Maybe I'll start the chase but not sure if I'll be able to finish it.

Full stacking is considerably more draining than SSdonking. Anybody can play push fold poker really

Plus how many girl friends do you have, how many kids, how much of everything else do you do

Second part is a fair point, but I have figured that being a full-time engineering student would generally take up more time than this, as most people with families work full-time jobs ~40 hours a week which is almost twice as much time as you'd need to put in to get SNE, obviously not including time spent studying your game and what not, but since you 24 table you probably only have to play like 16hrs per week anyways (this number could obviously be off but seems about right.

And ya I do short stack some of the time, but I pretty much have 50% of my hands on stars this year fullstacking. I only shortstacked at the beginning of the year and then a couple times during downswings. It obviously is harder fullstacking but at the same time people should be able to put in 30hrs a week playing something like 10-12 tables and attain it fairly easily.

how many gfs do you have mig?!

i think most poker players are just inherently lazy. we could and should grind more and get in more volume and make more money and hit SNE easily every year (for the ppl who are comfortable playing 8+ tables of msplo+) but for most it never happens and feels like a draining grind by the end of it.

there's a guy who hit SNE, FTP Black Card and Diamond Elite at Cereus while having a full time job and going to grad school at night. that's just nuts.

what an unneccessarily arrogant response.

marwan, there are thousands of people who think like you every December. They start the new year pumped up on that "SNE is a piece of cake" attitude and...by the end of March most of them have burnt out and only few continue with the chase. You'll have to be really serious about it and you'll need a good plan, especially when doing it for the first time.

Hitting SNE is not that big of a deal. The real challenge is keeping a happy, balanced life while doing it. I'm satisfied I managed to pull this off this year. Afteral, poker is just a game, being happy irl >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> being good at any game.

You can check out this chart for a brief explanation on Bulgarian regulation and other regulations in Europe:

In two words - online gambling is getting regulated, licensing rules are a joke and operator tax will be ridicuolusly high, highest on the market. Unlicensed sites will be filtered by the ISPs, which is another joke.

Antchev you said the VIP program changes are going to be anounced tomorrow? Where do you get this from? And will the update be on the pokerstars site or where can I find the changes?

Steve announced in the SNE thread that they would be announced by the 17th of Dec, and it just hit the 17th in the isle of man. They'll probably be linked to in that thread but historically a new thread is created in the Internet Poker forum. I'd say it'll be up within 12-16hrs at the latest.
