Everyone knows Stars is greedy, but I don't believe they would do such thing. Like already said, Stars probably even profited with it (there were like 350k people. Tables were insane with dozens of people in waiting lists. It got me more than 30min to get sit at 24 tables) so whats the point in rigging a game where are certain to win?
Besides everyone were mass multitabling at the micros, maybe like +80% of the total players so the odds is that it's dealt there.

the point of them rigging it even if they were guaranteed to win would be that by rigging it they would win more

I mean there is simply no reason to deal the 100th Billion hand at nosebleeds where Galfond probably ships it anyway and gives zero back to the community because he is unbeatable. Now of course the Greec guy can cash the 100k out, but the other regs still have those 10k who were at the table. Chances are just higher they will keep the money in the system.

according to facebook it was a greek girl
Because I think girls in general are not as gambling addicted as most of the guys () I think the probability of her cashing out the 100k is very high.

and lol @ people really think that stars would need to rig this promotion

fwiw, I don't think Stars rigged it, but the outcome def makes rigtards crawl out of the woodwork

funny that you use the phrase "tards" when your naive opinion is so definitively expressed.

the only reasonable position is to recognise that stars have an incentive to ensure this was won at micro stakes, and that given they operate a quasi monopoly, with minimal regulatory oversight, for an on the whole unsophisticated customer base, the potential for them to act on this incentive is non negligible.

examples of rigging in financial markets abound recently. these are far more competitive, more highly regulated, and operate between far more sophisticated counterparties than the stars player base.

lol, take it easy, the term "rigtard" is pretty diluted over years of spam on the forums

I didn't wanna imply that those suspecting foul play are idiots, but the circumstances are pretty fertile for conspiracy theorists (ok that one's kinda loaded too ).

The reason I'm not one of them has to do with my estimate on how much benefit there would actually be in rigging it. Giving it to a random reg at PLO600 could be as easily marketed as the .2/.5 Greek girl who took it down. The headline is "Pokerstars gives away six figures to a milestone hand winner", who it goes to is somewhat irrelevant unless it's someone financially affiliated with Stars.

oh I see, I wasn't familiar with the term. I agree on rereading my post that I should probably chill.

for sure stars made more money off this promotion than they gave out....remember that there were people chasing much much smaller payouts for months before this big one and the tables were running like crazy up to promotions.

just like they are gonna make money with the "100k/200k/300k vpp propbet" promotion.

it's the perfect plan, make it seem out like giving away money to celebrate milestones and meanwhile make good back doing it. my hats off to pokerstars ability to make money, they had me fooled for a long while. can't wait for a US discount pokersite to open with similar software and with less than half the rake.

I have sent an email last week to pokerstars to complain about the player " hanster ". Everytime jul.ia comes online he opens every new 10/20 table and will go sit out against everyone expect jul.ia. If you open a new table he will join your table and go sit out (on your right) so the table will get inactive after 30 seconds and close, he will insta open the new table. This is disgusting behaviour and I want to ask you guys to also take a couple off minutes to write a complain in case this is happening. Obviously there are more guys like hanster, but he is definitely one of the worst.

Reply from pokerstars:

As you have noted, in general players are expected to be seated with the purpose of playing. It is not acceptable to remain sitting out at a table (especially an active one) waiting for one of only a few preferred opponents to arrive or sit in.

In order for us to investigate what you are reporting, we would also ask you provide us with as much additional information as you are able. If possible, please provide us with approximate times this may have taken place and table names. Further to this, if you are able to send us screencaptures the next time this happens, this would aid our investigation and speed up the process.

Thank you for your cooperation and thank you for choosing PokerStars.

So Stars, a business worth $10b is suspected to be "rigging" it's promo to keep an extra few percentages of the $1m deposited on the site. I dunno what they rake a day but 6 figure dollar amounts seem to be chicken**** anyway.

Also pretty sure one of the smaller milestone hands was dealt on a high stakes heads up table with Galfond like a year ago.

+1, they should also try to take actions to remove the players waiting on full ring or empty 6 max tables who never play.

Since maybe you don't read that thread (a result of months of voting for player reps to go to a big meeting at Poker Stars HQ to discuss player issues where it took WEEKS to type up an official statement/conclusion because the meetings were so intensive and substantial. Something about 100 pages of notes and this and that) I can see you are paying attention to this one and you could check it out. Thanks. Oh, sorry if I sound a bit angry or impatient but I guess that is the result sometimes when you ignore your customers for months.

+1 Hoopman, def valids points.

They want to arrange some PLO meeting early next week (24-25), anyone invited and going? Who got the invite? Hopefully there will be structural rake changes for the whole PLO game after that (not just quick fixes), everything else is minor imo, but obvs nice to get smaller issues sorted out, as they have done relative nicely last 6 months where I think increasing min buyinn is biggest one.
