I won't debate the first point, especially at plo, but I'm 6-figures below ev for 2009, so I'll take exception to the second point.

Roy, do you really feel like short-stacking plo is the best way for someone with your bankroll (i dont know what it is but given that graph must be rather large) to make a living? This is not a dig at you btw, but a legitimate question and im interested if u feel like long term u can make more ss'ing than half stacking or full stacking in what's for the most part a pretty soft game in the current online environment?

i feel like the closeness of equities pf and the fact that you're (almost) always getting ur stack in pf will mean graphs like that will be consistent throughout ur career (obviously u will have periods opposite to that as well), but man that has to be a nightmare to deal with

Shortstacking gives me the ability to play up to 24 tables at a time, so when you include rakeback, ease to play long sessions, and the ability to make a decentish winrate then I prefer to SS.

That's not to say I don't also play as a full stack or more, when I get bored of SS'ing I'll play some HU play deep, however I tend to stick to the lower stakes games for deep stacking since I think SS'ing is more profitable at 5/10+ given how detrimental the rake is at lower stakes.

I also stay deep when there's a bad player at the table (or at least I try to, usually not when I'm playing all 24 tables) so I don't feel like I'm losing out on *that* much by shortstacking over playing deeper as my regular game.

I do try to play deep on a semi-regular basis though (not usually on stars) to keep my game strong for the future when games get harder / SS'ing becomes less profitable / whatever.

Boo ****ing hoo. I don't know much about all-in EV graphs, but when you're shortstacking, get all in preflop multiway, and someone bets the flop and folds out the other big hands, that graph can't calculate your equity against the folded hands and your EV line is way higher than it should be. I'm sure any shortstacker could post a graph saying he's running way below EV over a large sample but it doesn't mean anything. You are terrible and that graph shows it.

i think the "allin ev" lines are usually not a good indicator

a better indicator is going to filters tab -> edit -> more filters tab -> adding the "allin on flop or earlier = true"

note: i guess HEM plugs these figures in towards the real graphs, but i still think that taking the isolated hands where you get allin is a better overall indicator of luck.
