I'm just asking because of the fact that I'm going to move to Manchester in April...so I need some renting tipps for pro. poker players who wants to rent an appartement in Manchester (ideally Salford Quays) or in an other city in the North West like Liverpool

northern quarter or castlefields, salford quays also fine, depends on how much you want to party and how much you want to play live

sounds good...but I guess I have to pay 6 months rent in advance as a professionell poker player who is not from England, right? (do yo have expceriences with estate agencies as a poker player?)

for our place in london we paid for the whole year up front, but that was only because we wanted to make sure we got the place ahead of some other people. would expect you'll have to pay a large deposit and/or a lot more rent in advance. if you look tidy (meet both estate agent and landlord in a suit) and can show him something good like a 5-figure bank balance, it will help your cause a lot. stress that you don't party that much and spend most of your time working, if needed make something up about having other, reliable revenue streams (investments, freelance work on whatever you can claim to have any knowledge about). basically treat it like a job interview, and you might be able to reduce the amount you have to pay upfront.

4loco's should really get banned now. I've drank a sip before but never had a full one and didn't know it was as strong as it was. I literally drank it like it was a redbull. completely blacked out last nite and do not remember almost anything. lost phone, threw up in a cab(remembered that) cabbie was kicking me out and demanded an extra 50$ to clean up the car. no idea how i got home. woke up with a little blood on my hands, a bruised leg, hungover like crazy, played bad poker .

are you talking about antagonist from ftp?? he is like the biggest reg fish. he challenged me heads up once and won a stack from me I think. but I've pwned him sooo much at the 1-2 shallow games. the funny thing is he chases me around and tells me that he will never ever leave my table and how I'm the worst player ever.

he is pretty funny though. I remember one time he was cursing me out, then I started berating back and he was playing along.

-EV moving to England, country is trying to go though changes and its tough, if your a good winner at Poker, do you have to live in the UK for x amount of time before you stop paying taxes to US? Or do you have to revoke your citizenship etc?

nah I'm not from the US, I'm from Austria...so the access for me to England is very easy and with the plane from Salzburg pretty cheap (77 Euro!) and fast

I visited all the bigger cities in the UK in previous holidays (except Leeds, cause i missed the train ) so I know what I can expect from England...one big advantage is of course the legality of poker in England which is an important factor if you earn large sums with poker (and maybe once I want to buy an appartement which I can't do in Austria)

prices in England are not much higher than in Austria, some things are more expensive and some things are a lot cheaper (public transport is cheaper, clothes are MUCH cheaper, flats are smaller and are more expensive, food is a bit more epensive)

weather in England is not a problem for me as well... (i don't like if the weather is too hot or too cold)
