The ViBoNaCci CHALLENGE

Goal
Starting with a capital of 700USD on Pokerstars and a Gold star VIP level with 0FPP, the ViBoNacCi challenge is to reach 10.000USD in the year 2015 playing micro/low stakes Omaha cash games and Hold ‘Em/Omaha tournaments.

Rules
• No aggressive bankroll strategy/shot taking is allowed. At least 50BI must be available for the stakes played at for Omaha cash games. Most play will be with a bankroll between 50BI and 100BI. For tournaments at least 100BI are required. Tournaments will be the highest variance shot taking.
The idea behind this is that the chance of going broke is 0% with solid play without tilting (the college kid dream). Conservative while reaping the benefits long term playing a huge volume of hands.
• Poker needs to be played as much as possible (40 hours a week minimum).
• No cashoutes and deposits are allowed during 2015. If results are much better than expected this rule will not be enforced. The reason for this rule is to limit real life spendings on BS.
• A deep analysis of play is mandatory. Every session needs to be reviewed. Focus will be on general leaks and big pots with low equity.
• Make use of Omaha Manager HUD for determining the play in a hand.
• Both TAG and LAG styles will be experimented with.

This is just a fun challenge for me, something to look forward to achieving. I'm posting it here as it might be fun for other low stakes players to follow the progress. Next to this challenge I'm also studying.

I'll be updating progress every two weeks or every four weeks.

Greetings,

ViBoNaCci

Max number of tables to play at once?

Zoom, ring game, deep stack?

Stop loss, stop win or will sessions simply be hour based?

Best of luck!

Max 4 tables of ZOOM or equivalent. I think it will be 80% of ZOOM hands as it is the easiest to get the high volume.

Sessions will be hour based. The goal is putting in the big volume, playing disciplined/solid. Running good or bad, no care

If your goal is to make 10K, it shouldn't be a volume based plan, unless your goal is to accrue 10K worth of rakeback. High volume does not necessarily mean high winnings.

If you've used the pokerstars VIP calculator to figure out your yearly return, I would modify the hands per hour from 250 to 150 - 185 depending on your VPIP and if it falls above or below 30%. From my experience 4 tabling zoom, that gives much more accurate numbers for rakeback.

Since your plan is a year long one, it might be interesting to start out the first month with zoom and then try the second month playing only ring games. You could then compare overall winnings + rakeback for each month and figure out which one suites you best. The way that people approach zoom and ring games are different, so you might find more success at one.

I don't understand the challenge of this challenge. Making $10,000 from micro/low stakes PLO in a year is quite easy. That's essentially what I've been doing.
