Lol ouch. I never got into diablo 2 multiplayer... diablo 3 will take over my life though I reckon... when I went to rescue deckard cain in diablo 2 and that music played, so much nostalgia. Diablo 1 was so much more awesome than 2. Nothing better than teleporting around fireballing the **** out of other players and pking them. Felt like some kind of god

TPPKs were a big big issue in D2s public games online. Never played D1 online..though I lanned it a lot.

If you played D1 online it mustve been on dialup connection no? Or was it just around when broadband became big?

yeah dialup... the online environment was just brilliant until people started hacking and duping you had alot more potential for power in d1 because it wasn't so skill tree dependent and money actually had value because the stuff was so hard to get, probably a similar thing happened in d2, i was late to the party on that game so probably missed the best time to play it. its easily one of the best games online games ever, just a better environment than D2 and I dno why, unique or fresh or something, ran up some hefty phonebills grinding it for whole days. Was big into red alert 1 aswell, was ranked 4th at one point.

Noooooooo. Pro move is to buy the ipad, sure the screen is worse for reading but omg when you load up some random game like angry birds or whatever its the nutzz (also big ++ for being able to watch video on it obv)

I used to dupe in my own games in D1...was well easy. Would be stupid if it was just as easy in the online games but that was a long time ago and it might just have been as easy.

The unique/fresh feeling I can really familiarize with. I had the same feeling with so many games I played. "The early days were the best". Not sure if you ever played WoW...but I played it for the first 6 months after its launch and the game was just played in a more fun way, at least in my eyes. Again, not sure if you're familiar with it but there were battlegrounds where you basicly played 40vs40 in pvp mode. They required a lot of teamwork/tactics and some of the battles would last hours (I know, lame, but had lots more time on my hands those days). Nowadays the teams just rush to eachothers base without fighting for any ground and just try to end the battle asap to gain as many points. I haven't played in like 3 or 4 years now but I know I'd be very disappointed if I did go back to playing it. ****ing hell, thinking about it I'm so glad I only played it for like half a year. Can't imagine spending my weekendnights raiding some dungeon with 39 others instead of hitting the bars with friends.

I'm going through all of matt Uelmens songs now,,,, him and jeremy soule are the best composers of game music ever.

Yea I would refuse to play wow, I seen what it did to people, its all good when your like 14 but theres better **** to do than raid in wow, and get obsessed with getting your level up ugh, at least diablo had some gritty darkness to it, and the genreal system of combat is better imo, i mean my bro would rave about wow and all the strat used like 'watching your buffs' ugh. but i can imagine that it was best in the early days. Thats why Im getting diablo 3 on release and exhausting it asap. We should team up if you get it.

e: and duping in d1 was easy but for a good few months no one had figured it out. I was one of the first and it instantly devalued the experience. Still remmeber pick up a potion then click the item ont he ground at the same time or something... You never had a stash, you would lose half your money when you die, items were actually valuable. LIke even a half quality ring of obsidian was like ***** priceless, and the pure savagery and deceit of stealing things off people was funny as ****, it was like everyone worked as a team but was out for themselves. ruthless game back in the day, especially the hardcore games.

selling my xbox360 was one of the best decisions i ever made

mine is unplugged sitting on a shelf covered in dust, has been so for about a year, should prolly sell it. Only liked it for halo3 multi player.... and pro evo with mates is always good

Yeah it was like that. You had to drop a potion at the same time you were picking up the item you wanted to dupe. Came down to precision and practice but after a while it was fairly easy to do.

Do you know when D3 is coming out? Would probably get it and play it online but I haven't played any online games like seriously/hardcore in 3 or 4 years I reckon, at least not for a longer period of time.

D3 was meant to be released by now! I reckon about 6 months but who knows maybe nearer to xmas.... Its good they are waiting until its solid before release. Will be a huge game I reckon...

H8 thinking about time waste,,,, the amount of time i spent on tony hawks 3 was terrible. I got a video published in ps magasine though and a free controller for all those hours of literal grinding. my top scores were demolished within a month

Diablo2 is still the best game ever. i remember crushing these god damm ladders... lol awesome times.

I still remember playing two-player diablo 1 with my best friend on the playstation 1. it would take aaages to load a new area. we would fight over who got what item. man.. good ****ing times.
