Anyone know Smaugs on FTP? Is he a huge fish or not? he seems to be everytime I see him, but I constantly see him with huge stacks at 25/5 CAP

if it's the smaugs who's playing small stakes, he's super cally but doesn't seem to bluff too much in my experience.

his account apparently has two people playing (not my words), as banana said super cally player, doesnt lay down to turn bets that often imo... i watched the 25/50 smaugs a few days ago and it looked like the same style as the small stakes smaugs but obv 25/50 smaugs was alot more aggro

it gets to a point where its 0 fun and makes you angry. after some time it gets massive life -EV (if there is such a thing as life -EV)

I'm no expert but in my experience I'd say 49-52 is good for a TAG, I think getting to 55 and over though would be bad.

If you're LAGGY I'd say getting over 45% would be fine provided you're making up for it in non-showdowns.

of course the numbers don't tell the whole picture since they're all sized pots and some might be multiway checkdowns

what small stakes do you see him at? i freq see him with 30-40k stacks so him playing SS sounds dodgy

Try searching for him, theres so many posts about him. He basically deposits a few k or so and runs it up to higher stakes, withdraws, then rinse and repeat. Hes been around for forever on ftp and ub.

To clear a few things up id be very suprised if there were more than one person playing his account. I havent spoken to him for a while, but he never mentioned having a brother and is just not that type of person. He always used to play more for fun than money, hence the wide range of stakes. Hes not a pro, he was v wealthy prior to poker.

he was playing at PLO100 last month, but yah i see him all the times in the lobby at anywhere from PLO100 to like PLO5k and stuff

Well I thought i had the variance of PLO fairly pegged up until now as I've had a 40 buy in downswing and a 50K hand break even stint but this is infinitely worse. It's more the fact it is disheartening to be back at PLO200 after almost running up a decent 2/4 roll. But I can't really complain I took a shot, it didn't go well and I have to deal with the consequences.


It's seriously life -EV for me. I get really obsessive and depressed about it. I could have gone to a mates house and chilled and had a few beers but wasted my friday night grinding out a session.
