We have $4/$8 Omaha in town.
Same thing you are experiencing... lots of limpers preflop, 5-6 handed to a flop, people chasing their outs.
I've found you either need to be super-tight & play in position with great starting hands for equity - or be super-loose aggressive & push people around. You cant play the way everyone else is playing & expect to win consistently.
I think the key here is to (1) play position, (2) starting hands, (3) take the initative on the flop. I've often seen where 5 people see the flop, but a flop bet can get it 2-3 way, and that large $8 bet can often win the pot, unless the guy has a monster or drawing to the nuts.
If you are prepared to right the swings, you can beat this game full of tightwads if you are aggressive post-flop, but can read when you are beat & stay out of trouble.
You can run these guys over for a few orbits with marginal hands, because they will avoid the $8 turn & river bets without very string hands... You can get it heads-up for a lot of dead money from 6 limpers.
But then they will adjust - The regulars will try to trap you, or lower their standards to see showdowns with you.... be prepared to switch gears when they begin to make their adjustments & start looking you up. You have to be aware of your table image if you are going to be aggressive at this game, and make sure you make the right reads & decisions.
Waiting around for the nuts will just make you like all the other players.
