I didn't see any info in the stickies about bankroll requirements, and was wondering what a good rule of thumb is.

and

What are some standard kinds of upswing and downswings can one expect as far as +/- X number of buy ins as standard, for your basic TAG or LAG style respectively.

search past threads. Bankroll requirements depend on how many hands you play, what level you play at, your winrate, your variance, your accepted risk of ruin, whether poker is your only income. If you know these variables, all of which are available to you, this is really straight forward.

i don't think there's a gold standard, however, i've read that 30bi is prob the bare minimum. as far variance, watch out! iggy who is a consistent winner at high stakes had a thread about a 60bi downswing.

Iggy's downswing, I'm assuming, came in super agreesive HU games where every othr pot is a 3-bet pot and the money is going in much more often and much lighter then we are used to, thus the variance is much much higher then it will be when playing small stakes 6-max.

Meh, I think 10 buyin swings are def. possible at 6-max if you are decently aggressive...

I think 40 buyins should be the bare minimum in the micro/small stakes games, prob like 100+ or w/e in the hiigh stakes aggro games.

comfort zone...
this imo pretty much sums it up for omaha...
if ur not comfortable sticking it in at any time during a session u probably need a better BRM
scared money is a very serious problem in such a high variance game as omaha

I'm in the 40 buy in camp for micro/small games.
