anyone using PT3 for mac have Lion? I bought PT3 a few months ago but it wasn't compatible with Lion apparently. There was some sort of complicated fix, but I'm horrible with computers so have just been using VMware + HM2.

I am running Lion w/ PT3. Had to do a couple of weird things to get it to work, but then it was fine. First page of google results explains the fix.

cmon somebody give this man a serious answer.

I remember in my college house sophmore year, I just heard about online poker for the first time. Almost all 7 of us started playing immediately, and all of us had no idea what we were doing. But we basically all did ok, just cuz it was Party, and I think if you had somewhat of a brain that is all it took.

But one roomate progressed quicker than the rest of us, and I remember him 4 tabling 5-10 nl and being amazed. He played omaha hi/lo for awhile on Party too, but I have no idea how he even knew how to play.

A while ago I thought about learning omaha hi-lo and it was pretty hard to find any good resources either written or videos. I think the only video site of the four big ones that had anything for pot limit hi-lo was Cardrunners, but they had a couple of introduction ones by Predator006. I never watched them, but I'm sure that would be a decent place to start.

DeucesCracked has a lot of videos for both plo8 and o8, don't know if they're any good.

Never play middle-only hands - 789Tds is junk and shouldn't even be completed from the small blind most of the time. If you want to turn a small pot into a big pot postflop, make sure you have a solid shot at winning both the high and the low. Example - you overlimp KKxxds otb after a couple of limpers, flop comes K42ss, one guy leads and another calls. You should overcall and play position (unless you can get most or all of your stack in right now) as you're unlikely to be up against a set, two pairs don't generally get involved for stacks, and you're an underdog vs most ranges if it goes HU - you're drawing to avoid lows and flushes.

I drink Vodka in 4 ways depending on mood and what mixers Ive available. In no special order:

1) Straight shoot. Vodka is very water like, in taste, if its kept cold/ in the freezer. If you want to go the xtra mile, put the shootglasses in the freezer one hour or something before using them and put them back after washing so you always have cold ones for the evening.

2) With a single mixer. 1/6-3/6 vodka with any single mixer, stronger the mixer is on taste, more vodka can be put into the drink, is the main rule , but will rec any non scandi/russian to use 1/6 vodka as default.

* Fresh orange juice is the king, but any fresh juice will do.
* Another popular option is 7up or sprite (the first is clearly better tasting as a mixer) sometimes with lime, but I think its a bit boring and prefer option 3) over this but its fine with no other options available.

* Red bull (without thinking about health issues, that generally isnt a priority while having fun for me) is a great option, but if you want to use redbull as mixer, Ill always choose the JägerBull if Ive access to Jägermeister.. Its basically a Jägerbomb as a drink (1/6-2/6 JM, rest RB).

3) With two mixers
where 7up or similar is the base (sprite, tonic water or sparkling water as is other possibilities).

1/6 - 2/6 Vodka
1/6 - 2/6 Mixer
3/6 7up or another sparkling base.

* Applejuice is one personal favourite here, but lots of fruit juices do well in this combo.
* Other soda mixers for exampel Schweppes.

4) with hot beverages.
Most undervalued way of drinking it in my mind.

* With hot tea and suger, any fruit tea would do, 1/6-2/6 vodka rest hot water, suger and some nice (fruity) tea. This is a great drink, only way of messing it up is boiling the vodka with the water.

* With coffe and optional sugar. 1/6-2/6 vodka.

For other light alcohol I would use:

* Light Rum in the same way as vodka and esp prefer it if I use crushed fruit (think mango daiquiri for example for the girls) instead of just fruit juices as described in 2). Its also good with tea with less sugar in my experience.

* Gin, only use it for special drinks, two favourites are:
- GT, Gin and Tonic water, 1/6-2/6 gin.
- Singapore sling, easiest version is with 1/12 Cherry liquor/brandy, 1/6 gin, 1/12 cointreu and topped up with 7 up. Can make it more pro and amounts of everything is depending on taste.

* Dark rum, isnt light like vodka but deserve special mention cause of the:
- cuba libra (1/6-2/6 rum and coke) and
- Grogg (2/ 3 hot water, 1/3 spicy dark rum and lots of orange slices in a tea cup.

Other liquours I either do as a shoot (tequila comes to mind) or as a drink straight up or with ice (whiskey, cognac, baileys, Jack etc).

1/6 alcohol in a mixed drink as default is fine in my experience, some will prefer less, some more. And usually people prefer the lighter version early in the evening.

This is just personal preferences and Im just an amatour that have fitted drinks to my personal taste.
