Random comment / question.

When I was a bit younger, whenever poker would be going badly I would suffer from your typical form of tilt (anger/frustration/outward blame/desire to smash things). I don't think I need to describe the feeling much, and I don't think the cause/solution is much of a mystery to anybody any more.

Lately though, things have been different. When things are going badly now, its a much worse feeling. Rather than lashing out or being pissed off at poker, I just have this feeling of self loathing and sadness. The types of thoughts are along the lines of "wtf are you doing jakhamma" or "man, you are the worst jakhamma" when it use to be "god what a sick river" or "I run so bad". Anyways, I will find myself lamenting on how ****ty of a poker player I am now, and I end up feeling apathetic towards the game (whats another 10bi, you are gonna lose it eventually".

Anyways, this is obviously terrible for my poker game, but its also damaging because I'm having trouble shaking the feeling and its not fair to my gf and friends when I am away from the tables.

Has anybody else experienced this feeling of guilt/apathy?

Aghhhh, I did the optimizing thing, now it can't connect to the database... fml. It's still 108gb. I think reinstalling is the easiest option now.

you could just have purged all old hands (which means: the data is still in the db, but the hands are not)

How can I do that when I can't connect to the db?

Make sure the PostgreSQL service is running and that you didn't inadvertently stop it earlier

Yeah I tried a load of the fixes on the site nothing worked, reinstalled it all already. Realised the 108gb just can't be right anyway given how much space I have and the other things programs I have etc. Theres no way it's even more than 10, so this was all pointless. #fail

Still dunno why it says it's that big though.

I have. I think it's spillover from not making yourself happy in life. For me it's the feeling of not doing everything I can to progress myself the most and lead the best life possible. You should make sure you satisfy yourself in other areas of life. 1) GET LAID GET LAID GET LAID GET LAID!!!! There is a reason sex is on the most fundamental pillar in Maslow's heirarchy of needs. 2) Do things that will make you a) feel better b) be more productive. So eat better and exercise to literally just make your body and brain feel better, the exercise with naturally bring up your self-confidence and then focus on being more productive towards the goals that you want to achieve. I'm assuming your increasing depression towards poker is based on a feeling of lack of success so far in poker/life (or like, feeling not satisfied with where you are right now), so make yourself feel better and then get more focused on the path that will take you to a place where you feel satisfied with your time spent and accomplishments

i'm pretty tired and have skimmed but I think this is the problem with making poker as your main income, especially if you have a big ambition.

Yesterday I found out the average PGA pro makes half of his putts from 6 feet out.

That was the biggest booster to my confidence in a long time.

yea but their putts from 6 ft out are 40% for par, 50% birdie, 5% eagle, 5% bogey.

while i understand paying for quality style etc its pretty absurd to charge $345 for a completely plain t shirt that is cotton

http://usa.hermes.com/man/ready-to-w...irt-24327.html

but that scarf looks pretty nice and cashmere always feels good

Agree on first.

It's silk+cashmere (no itchiness, though silk should be cheaper) so it's even better than just cashmere. The big selling point though is I was looking for a red scarf... but not pure red. The grey on one side and red on another are just perfect for what I was looking for. If you guys happen to know something cheaper....

PS: was shopping for scarves only because of this thread.

The prices for everything on that site seem pretty ridiculous

Like. If I was worth 7 figures I'd be whacking out 4 figures in clothes spending per month easy. I got a burgundy tie from Hermes a few months back, absolutely love it.
