This hand is probably very standard and played poorly but I'm new to this game so please be gentle =)

5/5 live plo at commerce with $10 straddle on btn.

I just sat down with $1k. Effective stacks $1k.

I'm dealt 5454ccdd utg. SB calls, I call, several callers, btn pots to $80 (i.e., $70 more so $140 in pot), sb calls, I call (!?!), mp repots, btn calls, me?

I've put in $80 so far, and now I'm basically committing my entire stack by calling or going all-in here.

3ways is tricky (covered fd's etc) but put a gun to my head and i'd guess call and stack off gutter or better is +ev. The 3b is ~$400, ya?

shoving pre and seeing 5 cards is going to be +EV a ridiculous amount of the time, almost never a huge losing play, and occasionally a huge winning play.

Depending on stack depth I think I'd rather play 5544 than TT44, but yeah, it might be a fold nonetheless. I think 5544ds is too pretty to fold fwiw.

that's the beauty of this game. you inflate the pot a bit, pull in a bit of dead money and then it becomes a lolfest.

Regardless I dont see any advantages in limping this UTG. Raise/fold based on the table.

I never ever shove here but it's probably closer than I give it credit for considering how good your equity is on a lot of flops you miss completely. Still think I like flatting slightly better here with this exact stack depth, but get even $100 more in preflop and it's probably better to push.
