win8 is rly annoying at first so be aware (mom got one for christmas so i tried it out and **** was annoying at first, be abit computer savvy so u can set up shutdown buttons and what not)

Just to spill this over from the the other LC thread, the mechanical switches mean that you can actually apply less force to the keys and thus increase your typing speed by quite a bit.

I don't know that mechanical keyboards would have a specific appeal to poker players but to someone who types a lot, it's a vast improvement over a random rubber dome keyboard.

Also, I think there's an issue for professional gamers where you can press and hold more keys simultaneously on a mechanical keyboard than a normal keyboard, which allows you to kill more dragons or blow up more bosnias per click. But since I don't really play games anymore (sadface, but where are the good games if you're not into fps?), I can't really tell if this is true or not.

Yep, most mechanical keyboards have N-key rollover, which means you can press any combination of keys at once and it registers all of them.
