.10/.25 PLO 6-MAX
5 handed
Still in the transition from NLH to PLO and here's another hand where I need some instructive critique.
UTG calls, I pot with 8s7h6s5s, BTN calls, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls.
Flop: 2sTs9c
Seems like a monster flop but also very troublesome. I obviously have an OESD and FD but only the 6 gives me the nut straight and a spade gives me a weak flush. Being 4 ways, I want hands that draw to the nuts. If this was heads up I'd be taking this to the house.
Anyways, BB checks, UTG checks, I check, BTN checks. Should I have lead out in this spot? Bet fold? What if the BTN pots? I was very worried of being c/r and would've folded if I was. I considered this hand pretty but not that valuable and wanted to keep the pot small.
Turn: 8h
Bad card. BB leads $3 into $4.50, UTG smooth calls, I call, BTN folds. In hindsight, I think I should've just folded this. However, with the BB leading only 2/3 pot and not full pot, I kind of think he's not super strong. He did lead into 3ppl on a very scary board, but if he had QJ wouldn't he have potted to protect his hand? The only hand I can think of with QJ in it that wouldn't pot would be if he had the nut flush draw to go with it. Since that is fairly unlikely, I kind of like a huge raise here. With UTG just calling, he can't be that strong IMO. Maybe top 2, 2nd nut straight, a set? What do you guys think? I think a call is the worst option at this point but I think there's an argument for raising large and folding? Opinions and explanations PLEASE.
River: Qd
BB leads half pot, UTG folds, I fold.
As far as reads, nothing specific yet but the players were you're standard LP donks. 50 something VIP, 10-20 PFR.
