I usually play my cash games 6-max, so I entered a tournament that was full ring and I felt like the only way I was going was downhill.

What different strategies/mindset do you guys implement when you play?

Play way, way tighter in early positions. I would open fold bad kkxx utg in full ring. In unopened pots outside of the first 3 seats play the same as you would in 6 max. Realise that people raising UTG are doing so with the very top of their range, and act accordingly. Postflop things are largely the same, since a 3 handed pot is still a 3 handed pot, though remember to weight people's ranges heavily towards big cards when they play OOP.

full ring is basicly like wait for late position and high pairs and multiway pots
you want to hit a set with beeing 3 handed or more so you are always favorite.

so stayyy super tight. i find these tournaments difficult because well, i feel like i get put into difficult situations alot more than usual; which probably means i should lean to folding more.

i dont know, there's alot more limpers and the like, just seems like they call every single bet you put out there -- making you second guess everything.

hopefully more PLO tourney experience will fix this mindset of mine.

First 4 spot - you have to be sooooooooo incredibly tight. Your gonna get in such bad spots if you dont raise pf with hands that have redraw possibility - that is suited wraps/suited big pairs/ bigpairs + connecting cards/ Very Very good wraps starting from 6+(they have to be perfect wraps too - no gappers)

tournaments have nothing t do with cashgames.play incredibly tight and limp with a lot of hands that you would normally raise in a cashgame.players are so bad so just hit your flop hard and give up unless you do so.limp with all suited aces in lp in mw pots because people stack off with any kind of flush
